All NES Emulators are being gay to me at the moment (GP no jokes). Im trying to load Rom Hacks for SMB 3 but whenever I patch the file to the rom I have t doesnt work on any emulators Ive tried because it either gives an error or just nothing at all. I even tried throwing it in my recycle bin then getting the rom again and just trying it plain, It works like that but not with the patched rom hack which I really truly want to try.

Actually, it's probably not the emulator's fault. If anything, you should blame the emulator for working TOO well.
In order for a rom patch to work, it must be applied to a good copy of the rom. Most emulators can run bad copies of roms that include extraneous data. But if you try and apply the patch to the bad rom, the rom becomes completely unplayable.
Also, what patch program are you using? I recommend Lunar: http://fusoya.eludevisibility.org/lips/index.html
I have successfully applied several patches with it, including Mario Air and Zelda Outlands.

*off topic* Zelda Outlands is one of the best hacks I've ever played. The creator has been working on a hack for ALTTP for years, which I have been anticipating since 2006.

Yeah, Zelda Outlands is fantastic. It's basically a whole new Zelda game that is both highly playable and fun. It's a refreshing change of pace from all the crappy rom hacks out there which either just graphic changes or impossible bullshit like Air.
Going back on topic, any good will rom patcher will tell you whether or not the patch was successful, which is why Lunar is good. The patch is looking for a very specific set of data, and if it isn't found, it should tell you the patch was bad or unsuccessful.

You should only play NES games on a NES.

Dancing is only cool when you do it by yourself in your room at 3 A.M. while chain smoking and listening to Bauhaus.

Ya I use lunar and it EVEN says Successful but when I double click the IPS it brings up the patch thing again. I do it and then it says Patch Successful or whatever. THEN when I try to run it the first post explains my problem

Try both FCEUltra and VirtuaNES. My SMB rom is bad, so depending on what emulator I run it on, I might start and auto-glitch to minus world.

My main emulator that I used to use like and did like 2-3 weeks ago whats Nestopia because on emulator something it said it was like 1 of the 4 best ones made. The second one I tried was for video purposes but it worked very well called Virtuanes. Then I tried Nesticle and Jnes which were OK to me but didnt rank up to the other 2.

If I'm understanding you correctly, you're trying to run the IPS file as a game. That's not how it works. You apply the IPS file to a ROM file. This modifies the ROM file. Then you have to run the ROM file.

Use some random patch on a different game and try to run it. If that works, it's either the SMB3 patch or your SMB3 ROM that's causing the problem. Get a SMB3 ROM from a different source and try that. If you patch the new SMB3 ROM and the patched ROM still doesn't work in any emulator it's probably because the patch is bad.

Got it to work on my first try. So yeah, you probably need a better dump of the SMB3 ROM.

the only place I know of is also a ROM site, so it would get modded if I post it. However, patches aren't illegal and probably aren't against forum rules. just use google man.
