Not if they continue to include blatant thievery. Wink

Incidentally, next up is Indonesian Terminator, and then Indian Harry Potter... IN 3-D! Very Happy

I was sad to discover Dhoom 2 was not an Indian sequel to our Doom. Sad

Hahaha! Nope, but I do have Dhoom all set to go for a future Foreign Rip-Off Movie night, as it's basically Indian Fast and the Furious.

Those casts look hot! Plus, musical numbers!!! Very Happy

I also don't endorse piracy, but...

Aw, c'mon now, you can buy the actual movies cheaply and easily through tons of online retailers. Nehaflix.com, for example.

See, if they're going to rip us off and not pay for anything, I think it's only fair to post a link to some blogspot which links to badly pirated and untranslated versions of those films. Then who's the real criminal? It's a never ending cycle!

Just once though, I want a special edition DVD to come out in America with the foreign ripoff version of that film from overseas. Even better is if there was a commentary on it by the original filmmakers getting trashed.

Ya know, I just remembered that "Eastern Condors" was an Asian ripoff of "The Dirty Dozen" starring Sammo Hung... but I actually think their version is better than ours.

Sweet, I'll have to add that one to my list. It's a shame you don't live closer -- you'd love these movie nights.

We've definitely seen a couple of rip-offs that are better than the original film. "Seytan," aka Turkish Exorcist, comes to mind.

That sounds awesome.

And I wished I lived closer too. I've been trying to organize another "Bad Movie Night" for a month now. Sad

A few of the latest highlights:

Aabra Ka Daabra (Indian Harry Potter)... in 3-D!
It's more insane than you can possibly imagine. We were all in shock. And... my god... some sadistic bastard put the entire thing on YouTube! However, watching it on a projection screen with 3-D glasses is a whole other experience...

Cruel Jaws (Italian Jaws)
In 1981, Enzo Castellari directed the quintessential Jaws rip-off. It was so blatant that Universal Studios banned it from distribution in America and numerous other countries. That movie was The Last Shark. THIS is Cruel Jaws, a movie that goes even further. Not only did director Bruno Mattei (Shocking Dark, Robowar) steal footage from all four Jaws movies for this hack job, but also from Castellari's The Last Shark. Allow me to reiterate that: For his rip-off, he stole footage from another rip-off. That's balls.

Sevimli Frankestayn (Turkish Young Frankenstein)
Seriously. It's ridiculous. It's like the Turkish filmmakers watched the American version without translation, tried to figure out what the jokes were, and then made their own. Sometimes they disregard the jokes entirely; even without subtitles, which is unfortunately how we had to watch it, it's obvious. No video, sorry.
