Kinda depends on the games, but, yeah SNES would be a good choice.

I'm so bananas I'm showing up to your open casket,
to fill it up with explosive gases,
and close it back,
with a lit match in it,
while I sit back, and just hope it catches.
Blow you to fragments,
laugh,
roll you, and smoke the ashes.

depends on what you feel like playing.
and on what games you have available.
and which one is most readily available

There is a serious lack of NES in this thread.

Genesis and SNES are both fine consoles, but... I... I just have to go with the Amiga.
(Of course, that depends on what games you have for it.)

well, since i only played the genesis and snes (for a very short time no less) i have to go with the genesis . . . that's right, the Nintendo lover is sugessting the genesis, mainly because my friend had one and it rocked . . . well . . . as long as you have some good genesis games though . . . ellipsis for the win . . .

Yeah, the Neo Geo is great, and my favorite, but I can see why it wasn't a big sell.
i.e. it was way too fucking expensive.
|
So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind. |

What's the point in listing the Nomad AND the Genesis, One's portable one's stuck to your tv. Unless you have imports, or forgot to mention the 32x or Sega Cd add on. Also the Genesis just sucks to ME, there were hardly any games I wanted to play on it, except Shining Force and Phantasy Star. Plus the SNES just looked/sounded prettier.

I would take SNES over genesis for sure. The only sega system I really liked a lot was the Dreamcast.

The Saturn wasn't bad either.

True. I wanted a saturn badly cause Virtua Fighter 2 was one of my favorite games at the time, but at $399, I didn't really have a chance of getting one. I got to rent the system a couple times from blockbuster, but that's it. It seemed like all the good games made it to the dreamcast in one way or another anyhow...

Man, so many great system, so little time... I only had the Atari, NES and SNES when I was a kid, and I remember being a Nintendo fan all the way. But after I played a Genesis for the first time, I realized what I was missing out on. It had some really great games too and also had that "cool" edge to it, with all the blood, violence, Sonic and whatnot. Skitchin was awesome, too. But in the end SNES is the top dog, it had some really awesome games back in the day and I was a HUGE RPG fan.

oh wow. i love Skitchin' the video game.
i remember being able to have a run that would get me between the first stage and the third stage (or whatever stage you warped to from the 1st one) and keep warping back and forth between the 1st and other stage racking up a ton of points

Bah, I have actually never played it. The only games I have ever played for Genesis were the Shining Forces, Phantasy Stars, Sonics, and the Mutnat League Games. Believe it or not the sound and music is what turned me away from the Genesis.

toejam & earl were the shit.
and they were both very different games. the 2nd one is more of a platformer, while the first one is more of a.... cant really think of a genre off the top of my head. getting ready for DE LA SOUL so F this.
