This game is fucking amazing in vs mode. The battles are furious. One time I had to deflect like 12 shots in a row. 12 of them. Consecutive. In a row.
I like making my team all fat polish guys.

It's called the under the shirt trick (i.e put the game contacts face up under your shirt and blow back and forth several times), or by a new pin set off ebay for like $5. Q-tips and rubbing alcohol work wonders as well.

You know, the local flea market is only open on the weekends, and it started blinking on Monday. Cleaning the games and the 72 pin connector didn't work, so I'll just wait for the weekend.

That game is pretty great, it can be fucking hard though, so much fun to play with people. I have no Idea where they got the 4 skaters and a goalie idea from as it's not the way the game is played but w/e.
I like Blades of Steel better.

Yeah, blades of steel was way better. I couldnt ever figure out how to control the goalie.
"Gets the pass" got annoying after a while though.
Overall, I believe I would have chosen Blades of Steel. I can understand how everyone liked Ice Hockey though.

well, not full on fights.
it was more like a cartoony cloud of dust where everyone jumped in and after a while they got separated and thrown into the penalty box

I downloaded that game on the Virtual Console. That game is addictive and fun.

I always thought they were saying "HA HA HA", it makes a little more sense now, always wondered why my team was a bunch of cocky fucks.

I loved the opening song in blades of steel when the players get on the ice... Also totally awesome about blades of steel, is THE SHOOTOUTS. I wish you could simply select that you'd jsut want to do shootout mode from the start instead of playing through a whole game.
Ice hockey was glorious too though...
I also had Wayne Gretzky's hockey for NES...possibly the worst sports game created.
