Well, to be fair, a lot of the healthier options McDonalds has been offering (which allowed this guy to lose weight) was a reaction to Spurlock's documentary.

Make sure its not a rumor started by McDonalds. Also, you should note his general level of health, not just weight.

He's going to gain all the weight back. 1400 calories is too little for a 275 lb man. His metabolism is probably fucked. but Spurlock is a pretentious prick, i agree.

He seems to cover that in the video, if only briefly. He basically went from eating 5000 calories/day to eating 1400 calories/day. That man has a lot more will power than I could muster.
What I don't understand is, If he's capable of that, why was he eating so much to start with?

Yeah, McDonald's offers more healthy options than they did.
But you could do the same thing using longtime staples of the McDonald's menu.
You could eat a McMuffin and a Diet Coke for breakfast, a Big Mac and a Diet Coke for lunch, and a Big Mac and a Diet Coke for dinner, and do the same thing.
McMuffin: 300 calories
Big Mac: 540 calories
Diet Coke: 0 calories
Total daily calorie intake: 1380
The USDA recommended calorie intake is 2000. 2000 calories is the amount of calories that the average American metabolism will burn off even if you are completely sedentary all day. If you intake less than this, you will lose weight.

The average male is 168-184lbs, not 275. They base the 2000 calorie diet off this. 1380 is actually deficient for a 170lb man. Most diets don't recommend going below 1500 calories for men, as that is a minimum amount used for basic functions.

Super Size Me is retarded, and there's an unbearable smugness to it. Oh, so you ate like 5lbs of McD's every day for a month, intentionally limited your movement so your muscles would atrophy, and you got really sick? NO FUCING SHIT.
If you're fat, it's not McDonald's fault, it's your own. There are, of course, certain genetic factors involved that might make it harder for you to lose weight or prevent you from ever being as thin as Kate Moss, but the fact remains that you control what you put into your body. I was overweight from probably about 6th grade - 10th grade, then I decided, hey maybe I should eat less. I still had a double quarter pounder with cheese every week, but the rest of the week, I ate less and I ate healthier.
It really fucking offends me when I see legislators pressuring the food industry to get rid of trans fats and whatnot. McDonalds, Hostess, and other companys are under no obligation to provide us with healthy food. Their obligation is to maximize profits, reduce costs, and make their shareholders a bunch of money. There are other companies out there that provide healthy food and people who want healthier food products know where to find them. But at the end of the day, it's my body, and it's my choice. I should be able to walk into a restaurant and order uncooked goose liver without some soulless pinko from the board of health coming in and shutting the place down. And if I want to eat trans fat, I should be allowed to do so. And by extension, if companies want to put trans fat into their products, they should be allowed to do so too. It's called fucking laissez faire.

Ok, as someone who knows you and your eating habits, I have trouble believing you were ever overweight. I mean, you eat every scrap of food and even drink the condiments at restaurants and you're like 80 pounds!

I completely agree with this, and that's why I hate those "Truth" commercials. I understand people got duped back in the day by the tobacco companies, but today if you don't know that tobacco is bad for you, then you are just fucking stupid, or were raised by wolves. People have all sorts of choices that effect our health, and if you think its smart to eat mcdonalds only, then you are stupid and deserve to be fat and all the consequental health problems that come with it.

She also lied to you about the Cocaine too, i'm sure. |
Yeah but that's because of your frenulum. If you cut it out, you could swallow your tongue.
Oh... and this is a SAD moment in Google history.
A frenulum is a small fold of tissue that secures or restricts the motion of a mobile organ in the body.
That thing inside your mouth under your tongue that stops it from moving around... that's a frenulum.
Do a Google search (NOT SAFE FOR WORK) and you will be sadly presented with another of the body's frenulum's.

The movies about it have been entertaining, but lets be honest, just about any type of extreme diet is less healthy than a balanced eating habit.
Still, food effects everyone differently, but on the average McDonalds is not good for the human body if the goal is to live a long, healthy life.

I thought Super Size Me was an interesting documentary, but only because it was cool to actually see what could happen to a person if they ate it that much.
Yeah, I knew what was going to happen, but it was cool to actually see it. What was lame however, are the people who sue McDonalds because they had heart attacks or died from eating too much. It clearly is a persons choice to do this, and stupid companies and lawyers who are fishing for money by forcing companies to "go green" or to make ridiculous health choices for us.
