Hi,

Thanks for your great help with my previous lost game (Saiyuuki 2). I've almost recreated my childhoods collection of NES games, but one particular still bothers me.
It is a pure platform game. You play as some caveman, and use prehistoric weapons (boomerangs and stone wheels). One kind of enemy is meat-eating plant, which eats you, and spits out your bones. The boss at the end of first level is AFAIR a huge dinosaour, and at the end of second a gigantic meat-eating plant. Game is quite scary, has dark colors, and climatic music, but hey, I was a kid when I was playing it Smile. Does anybody have any idea which game I'm looking for?
Thanks in advance!

I'm inclined to say Chuck Rock, but I'm not sure if that came out for the NES or not.

Let me check.

Nope, not for the NES.

That means it's either Joe and Mac (The sequel to Caveman Ninja, which has actually been covered on this site), or one of the Adventure Island games.

But I don't remember Higgins throwing stone wheels at people. The boomerang, yes, but wheels?

You guys are awesome! Yes, that was Joe&Mac. I doesn't look now even half as exciting as when I was a kid, but still it brings memories.
About the stone wheels: I thought there was such a weapon, but now I'm not sure. It remains to be seen (played) Smile. Thanks a lot!

Joe & Mac is much better in the arcade, PC, or on the 16 bit platforms.

Also, Joe & Mac is not the sequel to Caveman Ninja... it is an alternate title to it. Joe & Mac Returns was the sequel.

Oh. Thanks, Syd.

By the way, you wanna play some oldschool stuff on Mame?

Just name it, and I'll go grab it.
