That game...feels too long. After the first level. It seems super cool at first but it gets so god damn repetitive, and the sounds are super annoying. Every character has to yell like an idiot whenever anything happens, and the only fun character to play as is Lin Kurosawa because she has a katana and a fireball and a bunch of cool shit.
I want to like the game, but I can only stand it for 10 minutes.

Oh yeah, while I've got a direct line with our fearless leader:
Are you gonna add MK4 fatalities onto the list anytime soon? As the last Arcade MK, it deserves coverage, at least out of pity.
That, and Quan Chi has one of the best fatalities ever. Especially since he looks like Dr. Evil's idiot brother.
Not that one.

The Capcom AVP is a solid game. I'll get around to doing something on that, The Punisher, or Knights of the Round at some point.
Sooner or later I'll do a second article that includes MK4 and odd and ends from MK: Trilogy and console versions of the first three games such brutalities and the Fergality.

Oh God Knights of the Round, WOOT. Anyway I know they made a comic out of it, but didn't they make a game or two based on Robocop vs. Terminator?

I never played it, but I'm pretty sure there was a Robocop vs Terminator video game on SNES/Genesis.

I have played such a game. Very well made, if extremely tough.
Also, kudos for mentioning the Fergality. Probe's employees gave their boss so much crap...anyone here play Extreme G?

mister lexia.
there is an arcade emulator that lets people paly 2 player games online. it's great fun for beat em ups, and I think it woudl be a cool idea if you and I played through AVP and punisher together, and wrote about the game. I'll find the emulator and stuff if your interested.
mister murder, AVP was a great beat em up. the best character was obviously predator hunter because he could fly aroud shooting exploding lasers and impale people. lin sucked, and yelled more than ANYONE.

That's MUGEN. People can basically create their own fighting games from scratch.
Sadly, it's not very good, gameplay-wise, and most creators are really stingy bastards.

AVP was on the Atari Jaguar, wasn't it?
What was the deal with that system? I never knew anyone who had it. I think I played one briefly when I was at the Epcot Center in Disneyworld back in 94 or 95.

I remember that version being the best version of the concept at that time due to its FPS aspect. The idea was you're either: the Predator hunting for the Alien Queen's skull via a human marine ship; a marine who woke up from cryo to find all the humans on your ship dead; or an alien fighting off attack and killing humans. This idea was later recreated by the PC version.

I recommend knights of the round myself. Just an opinion though.

the only real proble mwith mugen is that it doesn't have it's own set system, so therefore there's no balance. for example, you could have a street fighter II cahracter fight, say, a marvel vs capcom character, who can super jump and throw gigantic fireballs.
because of this there's also weird damage scaling. a KOF character would have an easy time beating the shit out of a street fighter III cahracter, because KOF cahracters take and recieve less damage.
personally the utter rediculousness of it all is what appeals to me. I'm not much of a hardcore fighting game purist anymore.
If anyone needs some info on mugen, I can help out, althought I'm still learning myself. I also have a bunch of characters zipped if anyone needs them.
I would love to be in on this MK tourament whatever it is thing. someone give me details.
I would also like to play mame online with you mister murder, althought I know know KNOW the lag would kill.
knights of the round was fun. I played as lancelot. he was a loser.
AVP on jaguar sucked. jaguar sucked. there was NOTHING redeeming about it. the computer AVP is rally the only acceptable one besides the arcade beat em up. not even the sNES beat em up is playable.
