I'm thinking of buying an N64, I can get it localy w/ Ocarina of Time for 65$ and can also get Castlevania on it for an extra 20$.

So what games would you recomend and is it worth buying at that price? are there enough good games to keep me happy with shelling out that dough?and lastly, is it really nescesary to buy the expansion pack IF I'm not playing LoZ: MM?

Paper Mario is my favorite N64 game, but I'm what you'd call a casual gamer. I don't have a N64 anymore, so I just play it on an emulator.

NOTE: I do own the cartridge though, so if you work for the FBI, harass someone else.

Mario Kart 64 is cool, Goldeneye, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Mario 64 of course. If I think of more, I'll post them.

EDIT: Also, I think you can do better or at least as good pricewise on eBay, but you'll have to check that out yourself.

Super Mario 64 and Banjo Kazooie are excellent platformers. you'll definitely get your moneys worth if you've never played them. Perfect Dark is great for the multiplayer, better than Goldeneye imo, but the expansion pack is pretty much necessary. Other games I liked were Wave Race 64, Mario Kart 64, Star Fox 64, Blast Corps, Mario Tennis, Diddy Kong Racing, Super Smash Bros and the THQ WWF games.

The Yoshi 64 game was alright if you can get past sickening cuteness.

I like the PD single player, the multi is blurry as fuck and the weapons are broken.

Goldeney is a must for me as well as mario kart, supare mario 64 and omfg yes to SSB. How many games require the expansion pack? It's like 30$ localy wich is fucked up.

On ebay it would cost me slightly more to buy an N64 and Occarina due to shipping being over 20$. Anyone know if Castlevania is worth buying on the N64?

I know Perfect Dark and Donkey Kong 64 NEED the expansion pack. Jesus Christ man where the hell do you shop? The past? We got 64's for like 24.99 and games for like $5 - $15. Both Castlevania's were poop to me, but then again I was/am in love with the 2D conterparts.
Must owns for the system in my opinion...
Mario 64
Golden Eye
Super Smash Bros.
Zelda
Mario Kart
Doom 64
Wave Race
Ogre Battle
Jet Force Gemini
Pretty much everything else listed.

Earthworm Jim 3D. I know a lot of people here hate it, but I just can't see why. It's fun, long, challenging and there's a plethora of items, just like a lot of other games on the system.

Regarding the expansion pak, check this out. It lists all the games that benefited from using it. Majora's Mask and DK64 are the only games that absolutely require it. Unless you plan on playing either of those or PD, I would pass on it.

For the price thing, it's out at the market and the guy owns a shops, they buy shit from you dirt chep and sell it for 500% of what they paid.

Example: Games Exchange will buy FFIII from me for 10$ and sell for 50$. It fucking pissed me off, and I will be buying games on ebay after the initial purchase of the system.

Here I go again
Goldeneye is a must, it may look old graphic wise but nothing beat the addictive game play. Perfect Dark and Turok are awesome FPS too.

Mischief makers and clayfighters 63 1/3 are obscure games but they are ass loads of fun. My cousin had Gaunlet Legends and that game was awesome, you could level up to extremely freakishly powerful heights (ex take out 50 guys in one blast).

If your into something really challenging then Rayman 2 is up your ally. That game is fun but it is hard in many areas.

Games I recommend:

Supermario 64
Both Banjo-Kazooie games
Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine: it’s glitchy as hell but still awesome
Both Zelda games
Gex 64
Mario Kart

If I had my n64 games in front of me now, then I’d list more but those are the ones I remember the best.

Games to avoid:

Superman 64: I’ve played it and everything people say about it is true
Mega man, theres just something about it that makes me cringe maybe because it’s not mega man
I’ve heard negative things about Castlevania 64, manly the complaint that the series doesn’t translate well in 3D.

I kinda liked the N64 mega man... but I'm definitely in the minority.

Estarland will give you $42 for FFIII (SNES, I assume) if you have everything with it.

And even that is a rip off...CIB (Complete in box) would fetch a decent amount.
