I sympathize with you.

I just bought an Xbox only to play Halo 2, and the Mech Assault games. It seems like the Xbox got almost all the awesome mech games.

I don't know. I've seen the demos and I've heard people talk about it like it's the video game equivalent of Snakes On A Plane, but I just don't know. It seems like you just run around a mall killing zombies with no real goal, like a less focused GTA. Actually since it's Capcom, I suppose it's more like a dumbed down Resident Evil. But if Barry Burton is an unlockable character, the game gets an automatic 10/10.

To me it looks like a fucking pointless mookmatch with shit AI and lame combat. Honestly, it's like "Wow, now I'm in a hardware store throwing shit at zombies. Aw, now I'm in a restaurant throwing forks at zombies!" Basically the entire game can be summed up as "Now I'm in a(n) [insert place in the mall here] [verb] [weapon / item] at Zombies!"

I saw a demo of someone playing, they were shooting a woefully underpowered, boring looking assault rifle at a zombie, then did a side dive to the right, getting stuck into 6 feet of diagonally slanted floor. Awesome!

Killing zombies is fun. This is why I love video games.

* Dead Rising alludes to the original Resident Evil game in the name of a sandwich bar, "Jill's Sandwiches". This is based on Barry's infamous line in Resident Evil, "You were almost a Jill Sandwich!"
* One of the "Achievements" in Dead Rising, "Zombie Genocider", is unlocked if the player kills 53,594 zombies. The unusual number is announced in the opening cutscene as the population of Willamette, Colorado, where the game takes place.
* A costume that resembles the famous Capcom character Mega Man is available when the player earns the "Punisher" and "Unbreakable" achivements.
* Mega Man's Helmet and Mega Buster (which shoots tennis balls) can be found in the movie theater gift shop.
* Earning the "Zombie Genocider" achievement unlocks Mega Man's real Mega Buster, the most powerful weapon in the game.
* A section of the mall is called "Movieland", a reference to Capcom's Viewtiful Joe series.
* One of the movies listed in the cinema in the mall is "Mega Man 2", a direct reference to the game of the same name.
* A Mega Man Legends reference is themed around the Servbots. The player can place various "Novelty Masks" over zombies to distract them, the Servbots being one type of head.
* One of the articles of clothing that is unlocked by earning the "7-Day Survivor" achievement is a pair of boxers with red hearts, similar to the ones worn by the unarmored Arthur in the Capcom game Ghosts 'n Goblins.
* Frank West's watch's brand is "Megaman," visible on the face of the watch.

did they really have to put that many capcom references in there?
holy shit.

"the next megaman game will contain over 492 references to the umbrella weapon in dead rising..."

I am a worthless piece of crap.

Capcom is a reference whore. Megaman has had kens shoryuken at one point. In puzzle fighter chun li could turn into jill for a second. In Resident evil 4 leon could buy the killer 7, a gun from the game of the same...name. In killer 7, well. I never got to play it. And odds are next resident evil you will get to hit a zombie with a TV. Then spinning piledriver him.

I love the german suplex in RE4, best move ever. Nothing is as satisfying as making a ganado's head explode by doing a wrestling move.

hunk's football kick is a hundred times funnier.

as for dead rising, it looks like one of those games that will be fun to buy used or reduced.
