the whole ripping on guitar hero is fucking pointless. the point of video games is to play.

why play metal gear when you can join the military. why play racing games when you can go drive outside.

idiotic logic that has no bearing on the entire reason people play games; I don't want to actually shoot people in the face, that's why I play games. I don't want to die in a car crash like fucktard dale earnhardt. I want to play a real guitar because I'm not a moron.

guitar hero and actually playing an instrument are two totally different experiences altogether.

I've been playing guitar and bass since fifth grade, and I've played in many bands and concerts, yet I still love Rock Band. Let's face it, I'll never play for an arena, nor be able to have a duel with the devil vis a vis the creations of Charlie Daniels.

It's all about living out a fantasy that could be foreign to you. I love hockey, but I'm not going to be launching a slapshot past Martin Brodeur on the ice. I'm interest in firearms, and history, but I'm not going to be fighting Romans with an AK. I understand why people rip on Guitar Hero. There are people who act like tough shit for FCing Slayer but won't touch a guitar because it's somehow beneath them. They're annoying yes, but I like the game because it's helping me realize something that most likely won't come true.

That's the wrong attitude, you might very well one day do some of those things, and for the ones that seem impossible due to time / space factors there's always the time machine to look forward to. Smile

I think I prefer playing dive clubs anyway. Less rich buttholes taking up space with their seats, heh. It's more fun getting a dive club of people to sing along with your cover of "Where Eagles Dare" at the top of their lungs.

Anyhow, I think I'm gonna sit Guitar Hero out for a while. I've tried 2 and 3, and while 2 was at least interesting (MUCH better soundtrack), 3 was a let-down due to the prevalence of metal and the note chart packing the notes too close together. I prefer Rock Band right now because it's got a wider selection, better DLC support, and it's easier to go along with the rhythm of the songs. Also, I don't like Aerosmith.

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind.

As much as I hate the GH games, I can't blame them for releasing a shitload of them. I mean, how hard could it be to make a game with colored dots coming at you? They should make a Nirvana edition where after you complete all the songs, your character blows his head off with a shotgun.

No, no, no.

In Guitar Hero: Nirvana Edition, you'd stare at your shoes, do a lot of heroin, pretend that your singing doesn't suck, complain about how your fans all suck, and occasionally strum a few notes.

Then, after the game ends, your drummer starts his own band where they write songs with pop hooks and actually respect their fans - which is the complete antithesis of what your suicidal douchebag ass stood for.

I heard they're making a black metal edition where you have to kill rival black metal lead singers and burn churches. Unlockables include Various Crow face paintings and progressively larger arm/leg spikey bracelets.

I wonder if they'll put "One" in it. It's pretty much Metallica's best song ever, but it's already in GH3.

Speaking of Metallica, if you're watching the DVD of S&M(Symphony & Metallica for those that don't know), be sure to throw the word Metallica in if you tell someone over the phone "Dude I passed out drunk after watching S&M all night!" Embarrassed

No one laughed at this? Sad

I'm so bananas I'm showing up to your open casket,
to fill it up with explosive gases,
and close it back,
with a lit match in it,
while I sit back, and just hope it catches.

Blow you to fragments,
laugh,
roll you, and smoke the ashes.

That sounds like an awesome game. The heroin IS included in the package right? I mean, you can get your own, but it's much easier if the company supplies that too. Like the Zapper.
