So I accidentally stumbled upon this webcast while looking for Game Manual PDFs. It popped up in a separate video and the episode advertised that it had the 80s hair metal parody band Steel Panther (formerly Metal Shop formerly Metal Skool formerly Danger Kitty), so I decided to watch it.
About four minutes in, I got really pissed off. Some fat worthless retard decided to a list of the Top Five Final Fantasy Characters of All-Time. I was skeptical. Top 5? There's been a shitload of Final Fantasy games, enough that this list should have been at least Top 10 and probably Top 20. But I decided to give it a chance. I wish I didn't. The list is so fucking gay. It went like this:
5. Vincent Valentine (FF7)
4. Cid Highwind (FF7)
3. Barrett (FF7)
2. Tifa Lockheart (FF7)
1. Sephiroth (FF7)
That's right, he picked FIVE FUCKING CHARACTERS FROM FINAL FANTASY VII. I seriously doubt this dumpy idiot is a fan of the Final Fantasy series... he just really, REALLY likes Final Fantasy VII. Hell, he probably likes to stick his pencil-thin dick through the holes in the middle of the FF7 discs and pretend he's making sweet love to Tifa. Fucking moron.
Any real Final Fantasy fan would have picked at least one character from FF4 and one from FF6. Locke? Kefka? Rydia? Cecil? Also, a real FF fan would have DEFINITELY done a Top 10.

I'm not going to go so far as to create a list, but I think any list (of beyond only 5 characters) including the best FF characters should include:
Kain, Locke, Rufus, or Kefka (as well as one or two of the ones listed on that tool's list).
I'd also include any of the Four Elementals (save maybe Kainazzo... he was a bitch). For the most part, the Elementals were cool as shit. Rubicant looked like a fire-infused pirate. Valvalis was a wind goddess in a bikini. Milon turned into a ridiculous looking best.
They were fuckin cool.

And now we know why Final Fantasy VII is overrated. This game has become a disease to everybody. And this is coming from somebody who owns FFVII and Advent Children.

I would say, in no particular order: Cyan, Kain, Vivi, Auron, Freya. That's right, I have a real thing for FF9.

That is fucked up. I don't know much about FF, in fact I know very little, but with it's rich history it does demand a top 10 or even top 30 for crying out loud. I watched a walk through on FFX and Auron is awesome enough to be put on any list (in fact he might be the only one from FFX).
And WTF, no love for FFI, the very game that started the franchise? I only hear about FFVII and on word, it's like the earlier games don't even exist.

I'm not happy with any of the lists of fab FF characters but I can't really think up a good list on my own. I agree with a lot of people though that Sephiroth was pretty damn awesome, and Kefka is one of my favorites. I liked Auron about 1000000 times more than I did Tidus. And Locke was just awesome.
Wait, I haven't picked a single girl yet. 8D I actually like Fran a bunch. Terra too.
