Sometimes I fucking hate my job.
Two weeks ago I setup a computer for a client.
Wednesday & Thursday Emails:

Any chance we can get together (just briefing) to help me with a few more computer things

Can you please be more specific about what type of support you need?

I have several questions... about the network , email questions, and transferring files.

Please ask them now so that I can come prepared.

Ask who what?

I am asking you to communicate directly to me, you do not need to contact anyone else at this point. I would like to know what computer questions you have in advance so that I can come prepared to answer them. Please email me the questions you would like me to answer so that I can correctly answer them.

Some questions about the network, email questions, and transferring files. I am sure they are just general questions that will be easier discussed when we get together than spelling them out in an email. Can we make arrangements to get together?

I responded to the last message with a phone call.
I told the user that I was happy to come down to help, but I needed to know what I was going to be doing and what was wrong. They asked me about a folder on their computer that was new to them, I explained what it was and why it was there. They told me that they really just wished I could come and showed them. I told them that I couldn't come down without having an actual technical problem that needed fixing.
They told me how I was rude and they didn't like my attitude. They went on about me being the worst tech they have dealt with and that they didn't want me to come because they didn't like me. I offered my manager's information and that I would have him get in touch.
A day passed...
My supervisor told me that that I allowed this to escalate and that I shouldn't allow things like this to occur in the future. If it happens again "bad things". This topic was not up for debate.
A half an hour later...
The graduate students from another department came to my office and knocked on the door. They brought me a card and a gift box and told me how happy they were that I support them. 24 of them signed the card and they got me fresh baked cupcakes from a local bakery.
An environment like this can make someone go insane.
