Turok 1 for PC, free at Abandonia.com

Turok 1 for PC, full version game. It's considered abandonware, so it's legal to download Cool

Takes a bit to get the controls perfect, but once you do, enjoy a cool FPS game from the N64 days of glory, now with mouse and keyboard control!

Now if I could just get a copy of Turok 2 for PC...

I like Turok 2 (or was it 3?) for the N64 where they tried to pass off the fog glitch as a game feature.

Heck yes, I love the Turok games, despite them being awful.

And Syd, you're thinking of Turok 2.

Turok 1 is actually a good game, which is why I'm downloading it.

When did they try to pass the fog off as a game feature?

The only other company I've seen with enough balls to try that was Titus with Superman 64.

That's precisely what I thought of, too.

Oh no, it's The Krypton Fog!

I don't think they ever tried to pass it off as a game feature in Goldeneye, but I remember it being very blatant in the Jungle level. I thought it was pretty atmospheric though. It made me feel like I was in the humid jungle of Vietnam, fighting the VC. Oh god... it's happening again! CHARLIE'S EVERYWHERE, MAN! CHARLIE'S IN THE TREES! CHARLIE'S IN THE TREES!

Then 008 or whatever pops out shooting with akimbo ak47's and you instantly shoot him in the face and lose the mission. I hate that I got punished for shooting him, despite the fact that he was wearing ALL BLACK like the charlies, and looked like he was shooting at you.

You're thinking of the Facility level... the one were you actually blow open tanks containing green gas. That was a good level too, it was a bitch to earn the Cheat from it though.

I just thought I remembered some guy in black popping out of the brush, does that happen in the Facility?

The fog effect worked beautifully in the Siberia levels.

In the last room in the Facility, 006 shows up and if you shoot him, you fail the mission. And then he "dies" anyway shortly thereafter.

I don't think there was anyone in the Jungle who you can't kill, unless that's one of the levels where Natayla is with you. The Jungle is the level where you face Jean Grey on the bridge and she has the Grenade Launcher/AK-47 combo.

For a moment I thought I was reading a remark about the first level of X-men on the Genesis.

"Life is a waste of time. Time is a waste of life. Get wasted all the time, and you'll have the time of your life!"

That was it, I was confusing two memories.

I never owned a 64. Sad

Wow, X-Men for the Genesis, you just reminded me of the one day I finally figured out how to beat that goddamn game.

See, my brother and I got good enough at it to where we could get to the future wasteland with ease, and we knew that all that happened once we got there was the game counted down and we lost. We'd tried countless times, flailing every way possible, trying to hit a switch or something to stop the bomb.

So we abruptly decided, hey, let's just reset the game and play again, since we don't want to sit here and wait to die, but we want to keep playing.

Wow, what's this? Flying on the Blackbird? Asteroid M? WHAT THE FUCK? THE LAST LEVEL? OH MY SHIT HOW THE FUCK WERE WE SUPPOSED TO FIGURE OUT TO "RESET THE COMPUTER" BY ACTUALLY RESETTING THE SEGA GENESIS.

I have to applaud the game designers for the total headfuck there.

it took like six years to beat the first level in turok 2. there was so much shit you had to do.

you also had better pray to god that you didn't die, cause you'd ahve to start ALL over again.

terrible level design. still fun though.

I get a 404 when I try to download this Sad
