I just downloaded this game and I'm playing it now, and I must say it's awesome. It plays like an NES version of Link to the Past. Has anyone else here played it?

I'd never even heard of it, but seeing that reminded me I still need to check out the fan movie The Legend of Link.

On a side note, I apparently found a bad ROM of Earthbound Zero. After I rescue Pippi and make my way back to the city, the game loops this annoying tone and locks up.

Edit: A cursory hunt for the game wound up with one hit leading to a bunch of games I think are BS. Like The Wizard, which apparently uses the same engine and look as Earthbound Zero. I think it was just a very well done fan game.

I was unaware anyone actually made Blade of the Ancients. I thought it was just a couple of mocked-up bogus screenshots. Someone created a whole ROM, too?

So did I. I'm surprised that whoever started that hoax had the initiative to make a ROM. If the game is real, then I guess it wasn't a hoax after all.

Well, it's still a hoax in that it's not really a "lost" Zelda game.

What I wouldn't give to see a new Sidescrolling Zelda for the DS.

Do you mean "top-down", or actually sidescrolling like Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link?

Zelda II.......man........that game brings up so many mixed emotions for me. Emotions varying between annoyance and rage.

I could never get past the part where you have to get the Hammer out of that maze of caves, where those axe-weilding crocodiles live.

To be honest, I don't think I EVER succeeded in getting it until years later when I got the ROM. Then I was able to do it thanks to the ability to save anywhere, anytime.

I still never beat it, though. I'd like to take another crack at it......

Yes, actually sidescrolling.

They'd have to work kinda hard to make it not a ripoff of the handheld Castlevanias, but I think the mere addition of ladders and a working shield (Unlike the one in Symphony of the Night, which that idiot Alucard dropped whenever he got hit) would do the trick.

Hmmmm. . . interesting. I was under the impression that Zelda 2 wasn't as good as the original, so that's why they went back to top-down for A Link to the Past.

No, it was a very good game.

Actually, both Zelda and Mario's first sequels were harder than the original game.

The only difference being that Zelda II actually came out here.

Whoa, I want that if it's a real ROM. Anyone have a link?

The opinion I hold of fanfics in general is that they are like the night sky. The good ones are the stars, and the shittastic ones fill the black space in between.

Hmmm. . . I'll have to get the Classic NES Zelda 2 for my GBA, then.
