Musicals make me angry in a violent way.
I hear the music playing and I want to break things, hit people, etc...
Some are worse than others, but for the most part it is older movie versions that really drive me nuts.
This weekend my family is got together at my grandparents home. They have two TVs in their home, one in a main family room and one in a reading room. So my mom, dad and sister are watching this musical in one room and my wife and grandmother are watching the same fucking show in the other room.
I am officially in one of those levels of hell. Not that I need to be in front of a TV, but I hear the music EVERYWHERE.
At one point as I was taking out my laptop, I had the strong urge to throw it against a wall as hard as I could just to watch something shatter and break.
Seriously, thank god I am not the Hulk, how shitty would it be if I destroyed things randomly just because of a genre of movies that I dislike.
It is probably worth noting that at this point I have yet to injure anyone or break anything (significant) due to my anger issues with musicals. I seem to have the management semi-under control.
Lastly, I did enjoy the Scrubs musical episode an going to a play isn't as bad as watching one on TV.

I don't care for musicals, but the worst at my house is American Idol Season 492.

Musicals are a lot like (insert minority of your choice). There are good ones and bad ones, and the good seem to outnumber the bad.

i liked sweeney todd. if it was good or not, thats obviously subjective, but if you like johnny depp and tim burton, you wont be disappointed.

I like the Demon Barbor concept, and things relating to serial killing/ers. What say you now?

Across the Universe pretty much brought a tear to my eye at some point. I haven't listened to the Beatles the same way since...

Some of my favorite movies are musicals. Jesus Christ Superstar and Cannibal: The musical (one of which is ironic enjoyment, take a wild guess) off the top of my head.

I love musicals. New York, New York is one of my favorite movies of all time as is My Fair Lady. And I have the same childish admiration for Gene Kelly movies that Leon has in The Professional. Which is strange because nobody could ever drag me to a live musical. But put a music performance with colorful costumes and fake backgrounds on a screen and I can't resist.

I don't mind most, the ones that drive me up the walls are the really pretentious ones. I mean like the characters will sing a sentence, and it sounds like they have more to say (judging by how they say it), but they really don't. It's either that, or you'll hear most of the movie rhyming the lyrics, but for some reason, a couple of lines don't fit the rhyme scheme. It breaks the flow, and makes it feel like the writer's just pissing on me.

I pretty much cannot stand musicals, with the sole exception of Sweeney Todd. That movie was insanely good; I saw it three times in theaters (only paid to see it once though, hahaa. Yay sneaking in to other movies after your first one is done!).
I was dragged to a musical play back in high school... I believe it was Footloose. Oh my god I wanted to kill someone... it seriously made me violent.

Team America: World Police and South Park: Bigger Longer and Uncut both bordered on being musicals. And they were awesome.

Agreed, cartoon musicals are usually good to tolerable (the simpsons had a few too many) but I've never been able to watch a real life one.
