Simply because it contradicts the fact that "you can't always get what you want."
Metaphor:If your a midget you can't be a cop, sorry that's life.
Comparison: If your a small retarded kid you can't play college football. |
I liked this movie quite a bit, being a Notre Dame fan as a kid. I also thought it was pretty cool that he busted his ass just to get a chance, and when he finally got it, he recorded a sack on the last play of his senior year. Its also pretty cool that they carried him off the field.
It makes me wonder if he would have been a decent player had he got the opportunity to play more than just the two plays on the last game of the season.

Not mine!
Movies I HATE with a passion:
Silent Hill
Superman Returns
Michael Clayton
Syriana
Nemesis III: Time Lapse - although I am proud to hate this film. Bless you Pyun and your terrible movies.
All four or five of those I hate equally. I appreciate them for getting made, but otherwise I would burn them out of existence if I was a full God and not just a Demi God.

| As for most hated movie, Star Trek: Insurrection. Did anything actually happen in that movie? Anything at all? It felt more like a really long, really mediocre episode of the TV series than an actual movie. |
ST9 was a response to people who felt First Contact was too dark. I know we all love dark gritty films, but the majority of vocal moms who actually write letters and call media outlets don't. They are like super delegates, their votes are worth 3000 more than ours.
Anyway, true that dramatically, very little happens in ST9 especially in terms of mythology building. In that sense it is closer to ST5 in terms of by the end of the movie there's a reset back to the norm, like a television episode.
However, what ST9 has is character development instead of story furtheration (sic). Now, while STX decided to ignore most of it, it did give true fans of those characters a great time. If you loved Next Generation, Insurrection is not really a bad movie. If you just watched the films, then it probably failed to live up to expectations.
In some ways it was an extension of the final episode of Next Generation.

Its the Greek play...portayed as an interpretive dance of grief and sorrow....and its fucking bad. I enjoyed the original play and thought "if nothing else, this will be interesting."
I was wrong. The chick (I think its actually a dude) who played Antigone is ugly as sin and...well, I don't really know about the other actors/actresses cause I only watched about 10 minutes of moving and moaning and shit until I turned it off.

Kano hates everything. What's the gripe with Top Gun, it's quotable, it's completely 80's and its a GOOD Tom Cruise Movie.

NOW he's completely insane, but That pool hall movie, Cocktail, Risky Business, A Few Good Men, Top Gun, all were good movies, IMO. You want a bad movie...watch Asylum of Terror.

I've never seen it. *ducks and dodges things flung at her head*
The Silent Hill movie was kinda crap. I think they should've just gone with the real plot for the first movie. On that note I absolutely hate the Final Fantasy movie (Spirits Within) ... I went and saw that with my friends back in high school and walked out thinking, "what the fuck was that shit? How can they even attach the Final Fantasy name to it? Where were the moogles and the chocobos and the swords and the magic? T__T" Huge letdown...

FF games ARE movies that are interactive, imo lol.
A Few good men was good, why he didn't get it on with Demi Moore in that movie still baffles me. Could have made a lot more money if Demi got naked.

the volleyball scene in Top Gun is like a commercial for STD medication.
You keep expecting Val Kilmer to turn to the camera and say "I've got genital herpes."
Cue inspirational generic music and shots of them high-fiving.
