They're really easy to add, and are very user friendly.

What exactly is it? A form box at the bottom so that you don't need to hit reply? That's a good idea.

I am holding off on new forum features for now. The forum software is horribly outdated and I desperately want to upgrade it. The problem is that before I can upgrade, I need to recreate the current SydLexia.com forum template on the new software. I can't just use the current template because if there are new buttons (which I imagine there are), they won't show up because they're not programmed into the current templates.

Unfortunately, I absolutely suck at CSS and the current template is basically just the old Penny-Arcade forum template, which I recolored. So it'll probably be awhile before that happens. I'm currently working with someone on redoing the news blog with a completely new design using the current version of Wordpress, but that has temporarily stalled.

If Quick Reply is what I think it is, that's a good suggestion. The two main things I want to add are DST support (which I believe is built into the newest phpBB) and multiquote, which Jew has been asking for for years. I believe the newer version has better anti-bot features as well.

If this is PHPBB 2.0, there's easy to install quick reply and bot defense add ons.

I've also added new anti-bot protection and changed the time display so that it displays your computer's local time. This solves my DST problem. Now I've just got to add multi-quote and the forums will be perfect

if its not too much trouble, can you switch the submit/preview buttons on the quick reply? im used to hitting tab twice from the regular reply option and its been confusing me on the quick reply. if its too much work, then dont even worry about it.

Yes. Well, sort of. The theme I downloaded, FI One Four Ocean, was the one that P-A listed on their credits page as using. I got that theme and redid the colors to match my site's color theme. Then I many of the noticeable phpBB hacks that P-A was using at the time, such as avatar size limits and custom titles.
