Encountering memes or Internet language IRL is always a strange thing. A couple of months ago I was at the train station of the city my University is in. There was a bloody mess of a bird on the rails. When I saw it I absent-mindedly said "Ugh. Dead bird is dead." to myself. Some guy behind me must have heard that and when he walked by he replied with "O RLY?". It was creepy.

I remember when O RLY caught on, I got so sick of that damn owl that I dound a pic of an owl that looked highly annoyed with half closed eyelids and put YA RLY but it neve caught on, and I have since lost it.
