what type of batteries do you guys use for your 360 controllers and wii-motes?

you guys buy any rechargeable batteries or just keep buying new ones all the time?

I havn't gotten the rechargables, jsut keep using AA's from energizer

I've been buying fresh batteries (energizer) so far, but that's starting to get expensive. On the 360 it's not too big of a problem. I've only had to replace the batteries a handful of times over the past 2 years. The Wiimote, on the other hand, seems to eat eat eat batteries for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I've already replaced the batteries 3 or 4 times, and I haven't even had my wii for 2 months yet. Considering batteries are ridiculously expensive, this isn't going to be feasible in the long run, but I haven't had time to look into the rechargeable solutions yet. I know Nyko has a rechargeable base station for like 30 bucks, but I'm not sure if it's any good. I'd also like to hear input or suggestions if anyone has any.

Whatever you do, do not buy cheap batteries. I have a package of like 50 and went through it in a month or 2.

yeah, same problem here. which is why im asking to see what the general solution is.

I totally think its a great investment to spend the 20 bucks and get the plug n play for 360. That way you dont have to shell out $$$ repeatedly for AA's when they only last 3-4 hours. Its actually one of only a few cheap accessories for the 360. I use it. You can plug your controller and it charges while you play and then when its done, you can play wireless. I think I even lost my AA thing.

Well I use old ones, I buy a set and then wait for them to magically recharge, then use them again!

55 hours is really solid life imo for the 360 controller. That's almost wavebird territory, and those didn't have rumble. I think the 35 hour reading for wii might be a little generous. Either that or using the nunchuck drains them significantly faster. PS3 is apparently terrible on batteries, though. Less than 20 hours? That's awful.

i thought the PS3 batteries were charged by the system itself when attached to the USB adapter.

Seriously. Your sit at most what? 8 feet away from your TV when you play video games? Do you need to be able to take your controller into the can with you? I can understand cordless for the Wii controller, becasue it is designed to be moved around all over the place. But, a 360 controller just sits in between your hands.

Also, if you play on Xbox Live and use the headset, then your wireless controller still has wires coming out of it!

Save the money on batteries, save the money on the recharge kit, and even save money on the controller (The wired 360 controllers are $10 cheaper), and go buy wired ones.

On the 360, I wanted the blue controller. On the PS2, the Logitech controllers are way better than the Sony ones. That's the reason why they're all wireless.

Wires make a mess and they're easy to trip over. I'd rather deal with batteries than worry about someone tripping over the wire and sending my console crashing to the ground. Going back to wired controllers after experiencing wireless feels archaic imo.

i agree

and the 360 is in the living room w/the big TV, so that would be worse for how my living room setup is currently arranged.

in my room all i have is my wii and ps2, so its not a big issue there.

This is the worst response that could be given.

Who the fuck knows how other people use their controllers. All that is known is that people obviously want wireless devices because they are made and bought.

What if people own pets who eat wires?

What if there is a coffee table that has stuff on it in the way?

What if the wired controller allows enough room to sit back in a chair, but not recline back?

What if someone has a phobia of game controller wires?

Wireless is here to stay, it will become more prevalent, and not less.

As for an option, I suggest buying batteries from Costco. They seem to have a good life span when compared to Duracell or Energizer and you can get about 40-50 for $10.

I bought the Nyko recharge station for my Wii. It comes with a two remote charger and two rechargeable battery packs. It works quite well, but when it the charger says the battery pack is charger, you damn well better take it out. I had to replace one because I left it in the charger for about a month and a half and the battery pack burned out.

Based on most of your listed questions, the person you are talking about has never owned a Game Console until the Wii.

I gave my OPINION. I answered the question posed by the OP by giving him an alternative. I know people who just assume that all x360 controllers are wireless. They aren't. You have the choice.

Now, if it absolutely nessicary to have a Wireless controller, or you will go apeshit insane, (according to GPFontaine) then I would highly recommend getting a recharable set-up instead of wasting money on disposable batteries. I mean, what if you were flat broke for the week, and your last set of batteries dies on Monday? You wouldn't be able to play again until you got paid and that would suck.

My friend has this 50-pack of Rayovacs for his 360 controller. They've been mysteriously disappearing ever since he got GTA4 though.

Really, use rechargables. They save a lot of money. My wireless mouse pounds through batteries, it'd get expensive if I didn't buy rechargables.

Just steal the batteries from freinds / aquaintences when you're at their house. Check the multiple remotes on the coffee table, the thermostat, and anything else that might possibly contain batteries.

I wasn't thinking of one person.

But if I were, I would flash back to my parents. They hated the cables of systems and used to make the game systems be put down in the basement on a crappy TV.

They used to joke that when the systems didn't have wires on controls, like TV remotes, they wouldn't mind them being attached to their better TV upstairs.

It was fairly clear that the OP already owned the wireless controllers, so buying a new set of wired ones wouldn't really qualify as a reasonable solution, nor would it be cheaper at that point. Not trying to discount your opinion Knyte, just sayin.
