www.Gamefaqs.com Thats all you really need. The white crystal is traded for the Blue crystal and eventually the red crystal. Passwords are for saving.

Old school beat downs...both will kick your ass for no apparent reason other than to humiliate you in front of your friends. Fuck Time Lord. Crying

I remember each crystal has a purpose, and dont remember if they're backwards compatible with other parts of the game.

Make sure you have holy water. Throw it front of you often in the mansions Wink

And we had to figure shit out for ourselves. There weren't strat guides for everything like there is now. Gamers got it easy nowadays. Mad Oh and we only had one TV and it had to be before Wheel of Fortune was on to play, or a weekend. We had it rough...

I still stick to that. NO guides until I've gone through the game once.

And basically, if you can't do it in the old form of 3 lives and 3 continues, you're not good enough Smile Go back and keep playing.

I never had nintendo power myself. Sometimes I'd check them out from the public library, but they were older issues that usually weren't of any use for the games I was playing at the time. The kids on the playground at recess were my main source of game tips and strategies back in the day. That, and a whole fuckin lot of trial and error...

i remember my brother made me call the nintendo hotline once to find that stupid amazon key in transylvania on DuckTales.

other than that, it was always trial and error and nintendo power. oh, and word of mouth.

That's why you always found one "friend" who had a Nintendo Power subscription.

Anyways, you use the white crystal so you can see the elevator in the first mansion. You trade it for the blue one, which you use to get to another mansion by kneeling at a lake edge. Later you get the red crystal, which gets you through a wall at the edge of a graveyard. All the crystals are "backwards compatible", they have the powers of the older ones.

Using continues is for pussies who suck at games. It's not even fun to continue; If you're playing Ninja Gaiden and you get a game over, the tension is fucking gone. You start over from the beginning and earn your way back, or just quit.

I've hardly started it lol, I played a bit, didn't get to a save and shut 'er down for now. See, I bought it at the store and then got III and I on ebay, I have III in hand now, but want to play through I first, so I am currently waiting for that.

Now that I don't have a job, I can game more. Fuck, but now I can't buy new games, fuck.

I think Castlevania 1 is one of the hardest ones of the three. It's pretty straight forward but the game doesn't really give you any favors. It's all dexterity Razz

Castlevania 2 is incredibly well done. The game doesn't have save points so you're just gonna have to fight your way through from start to finish. Once you beat it though you'll appreciate all the effort and subtleties in it.

Castlevania 3 give you choices. The hardest path to me is using the sorcerer. Grant DeNasty is fun to play and I prefer him over the others just because he's Grant. Who cares if he has no range he can climb on walls! Alucard is also a lot of fun. Try jumping into a pit and turning into a bat at the last minute. Adrenaline baby!

I'm always wanting new games, but rarely have the money for them. But I have enough games that I haven't even beat yet to keep me occupied for a long time. On top of that, I have so many games that if I did beat all of them, by that time, I would have probably forgot how to beat some of the others making them fun for a replay.

Plus, emulation is good for endless hours. I'd rather play on a console, but the insane amount of games you have at your disposal could probably keep you busy until you die of old age.
