Any supplementary files that people might require to partake in the contest cannot be distributed through the boards. It will have to be done privately. |

What's AIM?
Once I have internet on my laptop I can hit you up with everything, but it will probably be one thing at a time so no one has a competitive advantage.

it would be easier if I got everything at once, made a page on THI where it could be downlaoded ,and passed the link aroudn once to everyone, isntad of having to hunt everyone down and be like "ok guys, new game".
I mean, it's not liike these games aren't 20 years old and stuff we've all played a dozen times before. I don't see how we can get any sort of competitive edge out of it.

I'll work something out.
When the next game is announced I WANT people to be like "OH SHIT, I haven't played that in years" Knowing that its coming reduces any kind of anticipation at all. If you set it up, why couldn't you just say if you need it come here, and just add it, an 8KB rom isn't gonna be that big of a deal.

Are you sad that you're not competing or something? Or is there a trick to this, like, you're the final boss and we have to beat you?

They seem easy cause you can save state your way through any game.

I would like to compete but I'm sure if I won an event people would raise arms against me. I'm gonna pull a jprime and just watch, i'll probably try to see where I stand though,

i dont have a long enough attention span to save state games and come back to them. or just save state in general unless its a long rpwhat i mean is the games feel a bit polished and the controls are alot more responsive.

Do you think it would be allowed/practical/worthwhile to keep a diary of sorts during the competition and detail how the games went? I'm not a big NES gamer, so I'm pretty sure several of these might be my first time playing, and I think that might be some fuel for a good article or something of that sort. At the very least, I could make two versions of the playing video, one straight for scoring purposes, and one with commentary.
Of course, it might just be my habit of Overcomplicating Things talking.

My Sydapedia page lists my game collection and friend codes, if you're interested. |

I'd say a dairy would be helpful. In fact I remember in an old Winning Strategies for Nintendo games strategy guide thing that I think was by consumer guide or something said that taking notes is a good idea to learn enemy and boss patterns. I don't see any harm in it, but that being said, I'm not in charge.

i dont think what you do on a piece of paper outside that exists of your computer screen is regulated by an online contest in any way. its not like douche is gonna pop out of your screen and give you a beat down. and even if he said no how we he regulate it? its on a piece of paper. it seems like a weird question.

erock, are you guaranteeing his safety?
Cause the thought of Douche popping out of a screen would scare the living crap out of me.

Rather than quoting all of you:
GPFontaine/erock I LOL'd If I could do it I would
Hey, you guys can do whatever you feel would be beneficial to you, minus the obvious unalloweds (Savestates, Cheats & Turbo). If you want to forward me commentary I'm all for it. You can even send multiple videos your best time/score will be the one that counts. More on that when this gets underway.
I'll tell you one thing Syd has set the bar high with his first challenge and you will probably have to do some plotting to do EXTREMELY well. I am really looking forward to getting this underway...can't wait.
Posters/Lurkers - SIGN UP!!!!! Contest starts on the 27th. I don't want to hear any complaints about not being able to sign up.

Not true, there are heavily armed douches in that van that keeps circling. You will receive a most severe ass beating.
