You tread on dangerous ground, being that Nintendo has a very strong following here.

I haven't played much Halo, but I didn't really care for it. Gears of War was much more fun for me.

i like both.

they are both fun multiplayer although the online aspect of halo 3 is better imo.

they are two different genres so its hard to compare them fairly.

I think they're both pretty mediocre. Fun in short bursts but disposable overall.

I always thought the first Halo was a pretty good game. After the online multiplayer took off in Halo 2 they started using that as a crutch for why they couldn't be bothered to make a decent single player mode.

the single player isnt bad in halo 2 or 3. the story isnt great though and there is only so much you can do w/an FPS in terms of single player.

Halo never brought anything new to genre so I don't really understand how it became so popular. I could see the charm if you've never played an online shooter on PC, and I imagine that's the category that most of its fans fall into. I own the first 2 games, didn't bother with 3. They're all the same anyway so I could care less. Everything about those games just feels generic to me.

Smash bros is a lot of fun as a local multiplayer game, but the single player got boring pretty quick. I really don't have any interest in beating all the modes with every fucking character just to unlock meaningless trophies. Also, the wifi functionality is very disappointing, especially now that we've seen what it could have been after playing Mario Kart.

I disagree. Look at Timesplitters 2, XIII, Perfect Dark, Half-Life, Thief, Portal, or Serious Sam. There's a lot more you can do with an FPS than just a generic Unreal rip-off.

I'm gonna go with Brawl. Not as good as Melee by any means, but still a nice game with a great roster.

Add goldeneye. They had to deal with the fact they were basing it off a movie yet they kept it refreshing and not just " oh wow i remember this part in the film".

Both were fun multiplayer, but both get boring pretty quickly. However, I'm going to go with Brawl since it held my attention longer.

the single player isnt bad in melee or brawl. the story isnt great though and there is only so much you can do w/a fighting game in terms of single player.

I popped in No More Heroes last night, just to make sure there was nothing wrong with the copy I bought. Holy shit, that game is fucking awesome. The wiimote implementation is excellent, and seems far less gimmicky than all the first party titles I've played. Unfortunately, I gotta wait until I finish GTA IV and Twilight Princess before I get back to it, but now I'm much more motivated...
