This post has some spoilers concerning Lunar for PS1.

So I beat the game today and it was actually one of the harder RPG's i've played, battles lasted forever, regardless of level, and the like, but anyways...So I get to the end of the game and I'm fighting Ghalleon, he's a dick and it takes a good 20 minutes to take him out. All his attacks suck and its just a constant battle to keep everyone alive.

*Spoilers:
So I kill his ass and then it's the typical dying speech, "Blah Blah Blah I can't believe I lost, blah blah blah it's to late HAHAHA" So he dies and now I'm off to stop Luna from destroying everything. I walk up the stairs and shes shooting stuff at me telling me not to come any further. I walk some more she keeps telling me to stop.

She kills me, at first I was like "haha that would be funny if it actually killed me" sure enough after a little dialog, "Load a game:" popped up on the screen. It never crossed my mind to use the Ocarina to snap her out of it until it was to late. I was furious.

In no way did they ever make mention of the damn flute and any other time I used it I got a sound test! What the FUCK! I just dropped the controller in complete shock because I hadn't saved it in about an hour an a half.
*End Spoilers

Anyone else have a "Fuck this game!" Moment?

Metroid Prime 3. I only got 99% complete because of a missle expansion I couldn't find (with the help of a player's guide mind you) after searching everywhere for what must have been 3 hours which I eventually gave up on.

Also the remote control toy plane mission on San Andreas. I hurled the controller at the PS2 and scratched my game in the process because of that fucking shit.

There are a lot of what if's in life Donny. What if I hit you really hard in the face, knocked yo shit to the back of yo skull? What if I....had you girl gargle my nuts? The fact remains, you are a fuckin mutant.

Yeah that was LAME. Mad

Getting the hammer in Adventures of Link is a pain in the ass, and the last level in the japanese Mario 2 had me cussing like a drunken sailor. Sonci 3 pisses me off every time, I get to that weird pinball casino bullshit level and get stuck on that spinng platform piece of shit that you have to force lower by jumping on it, but Tails jump is delayed from your's so he always resets it and you have to start over nad fuck tails, tails is gay. Mad

LEGO STAR WARS 2 BECAUSE ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET 100% COMPLETION IN THE FUCKING PS2 VERSION.

Every version of the game has glitch that constantly freezes at the very very end.

I REALLY enjoyed being stuck with three useless cahracters to traverse a pirate ship and then fight a difficult boss that could constantly come back to life in eternal sonata, four minutes after having all of the awesome cahracters to do somethign incredibly easy.

It has literally nothing to do with jumping, you just hit up and down on the d-pad. I figured this out in about 5 minutes as a fucking grade schooler, so, yeah.

I remember one thing that pissed me off was when I used the "start and stay as hammer bro mario" game genie code for Super Mario Bros. 3, I finally beat bowser, but the fucking game freezes if you're not standing in the doorway holding up the entire time. I know I was a cheater so I didn't have any room to complain, but damn, I spent like all day playing without using warp whistles and I wanted to see the ending.

If it makes you feel any better, when I was in grade school, that part fucked me up for years.

I didn't end up figuring out until I had it hooked into the Sonic and Knuckles cartridge. The Ice Cap level after it made up for the frustration.

Riovanes Castle....if you're a Final Fantasy Tactics player, this location is etched in your mind forever as a brutal pain in the ass. No matter how powerful you are this segment of the game is a bitch.

moments that pissed me off are usually attributed to me fucking up. like when you have a ridiculous combo in tony hawk 2 and then you fuck up at the end of the combo and lose all your points. that was frustrating to me.

getting a blue shell on the final turn of the final lap in any mario kart game. thats fucking annoying.

playing brawl and having your opponent get a star and mushroom at the same time. thats BS.

the Deep Dungeon in Final Fantasy Tactics is such a painful memory...One and a half month lost to take everything. The hidden stuff, the dark areas, Elidibs and his Zodiac summoning...
Also in FFT, we take A LOT of time to take Cloud for our game and he ends up being a fucking dissapointment...

In DOOM 2, the last level is also so awesome as it's unnecesarily difficult in the Nightmare mode.

I was trying to get all the Magnus cards in Baten Kaitos, and to do so, you need to take pictures of every enemy you encounter. There's this one part, the Trail of Souls, where enemies come at you in waves and you have to kill them shmup style with your airship. If you fail to shoot them, you go into turn-based combat. You only get to do this part once, too. So there's two enemy types here that you don't encounter anywhere else and they have a random item drop that you can't get anywhere. So I kept letting the guys hit my ship so I could fight them, photograph them, and get the item drop. Then after that, I just kept fighting them for XP.

Long after I had beat that section, I learned that you got an item bonuses for each enemy wave that you cleared by killing them all with your airship. And wouldn't you know it, the prize for clearing the final wave was a Magnus card that you couldn't get anywhere else. I was about two hours from clearing the main quest when I discovered this and I was so pissed that I just gave up on the game entirely.

Riovanes never bothered me in FFT. I just yelled and did accumulated my way to whacking 500 like 6 times in a row before anyone else moved. Teleport kept me safe.DD never bothered me either. It just took a long time to get Elidibs to summon zodiac on everyone so they could learn it. Then getting into battles so that my cheap summoner that knows only zodiac would get charmed by a male theif and blast everyone else with zodiac, or you can do the double teahc summoner trick.

Part of my hatred of Riovanes is that the first time I got there, I hadn't learned yell, so I couldn't use the typical strategy. I ended up winning in a highly unconventional way, but it took me the better part of a week to come up with something.

Was that the one you used the chronomage soul for?

Iron Golem was my annoying one on that game, until I learned the trick.

And yeah, that Iron Golem thing sucked.

Here's two of them...
Playing Wizardry and spending an hour getting your characters up 1 level only to have some random monster steal your level away, THEN beheading you. Fuck that game.
and
(This really isn't part of game, but more like the games fault for not including it)
Playing an RPG on PlayStation, getting a couple hours in then realizing you don't have any blocks left on your memory card.

And that's why all games these days check your memory card when you load them.

You didn't miss much.

I got all the license in all of them, but it was an unnecessary hassle. Especially in 3 when they started to break up the Rally license. Bastards!

The mine cart levels in Pacman2 The New Adventure. Especially the one that appears when you have to catch the thief.

Speaking of soul collecting, Frankenstien's monster is a bitch. (I forgot that was the DS game. Its been too long, I forgot what was difficult to get in AoS)
