I rented it too and ended up digging it, so I eventually bought it from Blockbusters. It was more Mission: Impossible-y than the NES version and still better than Operation Surma (or whatever that was called). I wouldn't call it overrated though. Confused

well, in that light, i would have to agree w/you.

i just hated that nintendo power was my only outlet for reviews (lack of internet + being poor made it hard to buy other magazines) and NP always made every N64 game seem fantastic.

speaking of which, i never got a chance to play silicon valley, anyone play that game? it actually looked interesting/fun

Mario tennis was surprisingly a really fun multiplayer game, even if you had no real interest in tennis. That and the original smash bros were the definitive games of my dorm during my freshman year. Good times...

I also liked Diddy Kong racing quite a bit. Maybe even more than MK64, maybe...It was at least just as good though.

Also Perfect Dark > Goldeneye IMO, at least for multiplayer. I never played through the story mode on PD. If it had all the goldeneye maps instead of just some, then goldeneye would have been completely obsolete.
