I wouldn't mind a remake of Metal Warriors.

They already remade it, but I need a readily available remake of Phantasy Star. The original is like playing with sticks now.

EDIT: As of five days ago, all four of these games are definitely happening. See here.

I wonder how Interplay could afford to re-buy the Baldur's Gate lincense from Wizards? You know that's got to be f'ing expensive.

Oh Herve Caen of Interplay, you are the biggest joke of the gaming industry. Please, pump out more sassy Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel titles... Well, all things considered, I have more faith in their proposed "Fallout Online" than I do in Bethsoft's Failout Trois: The Elder Scrolls.

Interplay doesn't own the BG license, and frankly it won't be able to buy it back. It's owned by Atari, and so far they haven't made a sound about what they've been doing with it ever since Black Isle went under. On the other hand, JE Sawyer's been working on a BG3 mod for Neverwinter Nights 2 on and off, check it out: http://theblackhound.googlepages.com/

A new EWJ would be nice, but from what I've read Dough TenNapel isn't too keen on it, as the experience of the PSP remake fizzling out proved rather disheartening.

Ahhh Interplay, the anus of game design today.

Nice, an enhanced Ocarina Of Time is all we need...yes, we DO need it.
When will Blizzard remake Rock N' Roll Racing, anyways? I mean, more vehicles, more ass-kicking songs, et cetera.

P.S - I'll only buy a PS3 if they remake not FFVII, but something more worthy of being remade for so awful in therms of gameplay and translation, worse than VII...Xenogears!

They probably don't need to rebuy the license. Wizards of the Coast doesn't make video games, so Interplay may still have an unexpired sublicense from Wizards to make Baldur's Gate video games.

Is the Fire Emblem that is coming out for DS a remake of the first one w/Marth in it?

I'm so bananas I'm showing up to your open casket,
to fill it up with explosive gases,
and close it back,
with a lit match in it,
while I sit back, and just hope it catches.

Blow you to fragments,
laugh,
roll you, and smoke the ashes.

I'm not a huge fan of remakes... I can dig a port, because you can still play your beloved games on the new consoles, but a lot of what makes old games good, is the nostalgia that goes with it. Remakes tend to taint that memory, so if its a remake of a game i've never played, I'll give it a go, but for instance if they remade FFVII, I would probably avoid it because it would blur with my memory of playing the original. I would much rather these great companies focus their energy on making new experiences, than rehashing the old ones. the Zelda series does a pretty good job of making a decent new game every time, and if they lets say remade "A Link to the Past" , my favorite of the series, the new graphics would inevitably ruin what i loved about the game.

I really don't care if they do remakes or not. I can understand if somebody doesn't have anything but next-gen and doesn't want to have to buy all of the old systems just for a few games they want. But for me, if I want to play an old game, I'll just play that game in its original state.

On the other hand, I do want ports of games that have never a got North American release. Like Vampire Killer or some of the awesome RPGs that we never got to play. Maybe even ports for hard to get systems like Jaguar.

But I'd rather have ports than a full blown remake. But everything needs to stay true to the original. For example, I don't want a Super Mario Bros. without world -1. Thats just bullcrap.

I'm also not a fan of movie remakes for the most part. There are some that did it right. There are also some awesome ones. Even though I was against it, Lucas' Star Wars "updates" were even acceptable. I'm talking more about when somebody wants to remake Fletch or something like that. These people can go to Hell. As can people who want to remake cartoons as live action movies. Just make a cartoon movie. Come on. And no more remakes of TV shows into movies.

Next thing you know, people will be remaking novels.

However, alleged rip-offs like Reservoir Dogs IS acceptable. Mr Pink owns any character from City on Fire. "Whadaya mean you don't tip. Put in a dollar you cheap bastard."

twin snakes was fantastic, even if backflipping off of a missile to fire your own missile was a bit much.
