Honestly Waterworld is not a bad movie. And if Kevin Costner hadn't been retarded, the movie wouldn't have been the costly, overhyped commercial failure that it was. The movie could have easily been shot on a soundstage for significantly less money, but Costner insisted on shooting in on location.

That's true. Everyone immediately makes fun of Waterworld, but they have to appreciate how good Hopper was in there. Every time I hear him say, "It does look like shit," I just crack up. I don't know why.
