From the 8-bit: A trek across the Transylvanian countryside in search of His Dark Lordship's missing parts.

From the 16-bit: A intense 2D fighting game with 3D charcter models.

And Killer Instinct edges out Castlevania II: Simon's Quest. The votes in JEW's poll don't count, even if there are more of them.
