What are some "dead" game franchises that you would like to see make a comeback?
For me, it's Adventures of Lolo, Donkey Kong Country, Star Tropics, Street Fighter, and the original Mega Man series. Oh, and 2D Castlevanias that aren't on handhelds.

Along those lines, put me down for 2D Metroid games that aren't on handhelds.
Also, Sonic the Hedgehog games where you actually play as Sonic, and Ninja Turtles beat-em-ups.

Basewars. Though it's not really a franchise, it still kicked major ass.

The Magic of Scheherazade and Startropics spring to mind instantly.

I was thinking the same thing but I am still looking for that StarTropics look alike on Gameboy. The one where you use a yoyo to grab a foe and then slash them with a sword.
Then there is Secret of Evermore which reminds me of StarTropics

I don't know how these two slipped my mind. I'd like to see a Battle Toads sequel, and a Double Dragon sequel. Or put them both in the same game again and make a "Battle Toads & Double Dragon: The Ultimate Team 2" Since the first one was so awesome.

You had Dead Pheonix which was like Pilotwings/ Gargolye comeback. Also Nintendo would have to top Microsoft Flight Simulator.

I was hoping so. I hadn't looked into it.. but with the gyro-controller, how could they not?
As for MSFS - I played the '97 version last year... so I've turned against them for poor reasons. That and I generally don't like flight simulators anyway. I liked Pilotwings for the N64 but it was creative, not just a bunch of flying around and shooting things.

Holy shit this thread is old! I'd like to see Galaga revived. Oh yeah, Demons Crest, whatever those games were called with Firebrand in them. That'd be a good revival.

Battletoads and Double Dragon(Both franchises, not just the game of the same name), Spyro the Dragon(Like the PS1 games), and Rock N' Roll Racing.

Fuckin' A man. I fucking love that game. Its too easy to hit homeruns though.
That could be one of the most underrated NES games, along with RC pro am IMO.
How about a decent Pokemon in the vein of Red and Blue and with the infinite items cheat left in? There is too much shit going on in the newer ones (at least for me). I wonder how long it would take me to beat that game now.
How about a new NHL Hitz? Not in the "Pro" vein that they released the Blitz and NHL Hitz line in. Those were awful. NHL HItz 2003 was fucking tight (or whatever year it was with the woodmen team).

I loved Hitz, it was fun smashing other players through the glass.
