So a hobby of mine (and my roommates) has been attempting to beat Tecmo Super Bowl with every team. From the mighty, unstoppable Niners to the lowly QB-Browns backed Browns.
So we are going through a Browns season... at the last game of the season we are 15-0... not bad for a shitty Cleveland team. We take turns on quarters, and I play quarters 1 and 3, he plays quarters 2 and 4.
So the last game of the season, we are playing Pittsburgh, and anyone who knows Tecmo Super Bowl knows that as the season goes on, the game cheats more and more: your team fumbles incessantly, defensive lineman for your opponent run like Bo Jackson, EVERYONE on your team gets injured, etc. So going into the fourth quarter, we had a 14-13 lead on Pittsburgh.
My roommate takes over on defense and picks run plays ALL THE TIME. HAVEN'T YOU REALIZED THAT IF YOU PICK RUN PLAYS THE RECEIVERS GET WIDE OPEN?!?! It's smarter to pick pass plays and play the run.
So, needless to say... Bubby Brister throws a 80 yard bomb and they score, go up 20-14.
So now he's on offense... the Steelers kicker shits the bed and kicks the ball JUST into the red so its not onside. Awesome field position... he can't fuck this up.
He runs the dink-and-dunk pass plays down to the 8 with a minute to go... the short pass plays are key late in the game. He gets to the 8... run play- Steelers chose it too, 2nd and goal from the 12.
Pass play, 3rd and goal from the 2.
Here's where it gets retarded....
Run play- 4th and goal from the 3.
At this point, you'd think some mental calculus would have gotten done... runs don't work....
Run play... stopped at the goal line. Steelers ruin the perfect season 15-1.
Coincidentally he pulled the same thing in the Super Bowl against the Giants. We lost.

Thou, because I am wroth, be not dismayed, for I shall win the strife, whoever circle round within for the defence. This their insolence is not new, for of old they used it at a less secret gate, which still is found without a bolt. Above it thou didst see the dead inscription; and already on this side of it
descends the steep, passing without escort through the circles,
One such that by him the city shall be opened to us. |

That game is aweomse, they should re-make that for the wii, and allow online play... (well maybe not, probably a waste of server space, for the amount of use gotten out of it), but that game is really awesome.

Definitely... one of my all time faves. I still pick the Niners though, I'm still way too much of a Joe Montana mark.

Tecmo has promised us a new Tecmo Bowl. Announced on the Wii and 360, I do believe.

Slam dunk! It's outta the park! Looks like he got three strikes! He's outta there, but he sure knocked down a lot of the bowling pins! Whoa, he's about to make the hockey goal shot and OH he's outta there! Grand slam! He's eating a Grand Slam at Denny's, he's literally out of the park, at Denny's, when he should be playing Baseball! What are we paying these exorbitant salaries to sportsmen for if they're just going to eat the Grand Slam!? Looks like it's a penalty kick from the three point line, field goal! HOCKEY PUCK TRICK SHOT GOAL!

Is this a reference to something or just a Murdar-ed way of saying that you dislike sports and reject the notion of athletic competition (aka: got beat up in gym class)?

QB Bills (Jim Kelly) and Thurman Thomas were ridiculous in that game. Syd (and other New England forumers), sorry if this drudges up old memories of Grogan and how shitty the Patriots used to be.
The old symbol was way cooler than the Flying Elvis they have on their helmet now though.

I beat your mom's pussy up with my dick in gym class.
I'm pretty impartial to sports games, the only one I really like is Baseball Stars 2.

Then try to be more clear about your posts so they aren't construed wrong.

I thought your story was funny, I just found a good outlet for a generic sports commentator rant in your thread.

Yes, Yes it is. The most perfect baseball game ever, and one of the few nintendo games I can still enjoy just as much as when I was a kid.

RBI Baseball is an awesome game.
I also thought Baseball Stars was cool because you could make your own team and you could beat a bunch of girls

I always liked Bad News Baseball a lot for some reason. I still play it every once in a while when I get bored. Baseball Stars, RBI and Major League Baseball were great ones as well.

Even though I still enjoy PLENTY of NES games... the above is quoted for truth...
RBI Baseball has staying power, although now when I play it, Roger Clemens seems like he's cheating.
