I like pretty much all original video game music from the NES era and beyond. I guess my favorite stuff would be the Mini Bosses and the music of Sonic Adventure 2, as those are the only things I actually have on my iPod.

The Space Jam remix for Barkley Shut Up and Jam!: Gaiden is great. I also like most of the Megaman songs and the 'Great Ocean Theme' from Windwaker.

I give you what happens when you sub in a vocal program for the music and sound effects in Mega Man 3:

"Life is a waste of time. Time is a waste of life. Get wasted all the time, and you'll have the time of your life!"

^Oh gosh, that's so bloody scary. Puts Alvin & the Chipmunks to shame.

I'm a big fan of Final Fantasy music (specifically VI, VII, VIII, & IX), and Symphony of the Night's got a killer soundtrack too. I really like Mario Galaxy's soundtrack too - it's a far cry from the simple tunes of SMB 1-3.

For those who haven't listened to it, check out Killer 7's soundtrack. It's pretty damn cool.

Not that anyone really likes Final Fantasy 7 or the PSP but Crisis Core's soundtrack is awesome.

Count me out of that group. =P

Who's the composer of the music in Crisis Core? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I heard Uematsu doesn't compose FF music anymore.

The music was composed by Takeharu Ishimoto, with a few tracks by Kazuhiko Toyama. The soundtrack also includes remixes of various music from Final Fantasy VII composed by Nobuo Uematsu. The game's theme song is called "Why", by Ayaka.
That's from Wikipedia.

Opening theme's from both FF7 & 8 are good.
Earthbound had great music, specifically the" naming your characters"' music and Pokey's theme at the end.
Illusion of Gaia had a nice intro theme. So did Wild Arms.

and of course Zelda, megaman, metroid.

I wanna do a remix of some Phantasy Star II songs.

Silent Hill soundtracks are just plain great albums.

FF 7 and 8 have my two favorite soundtracks ever. My favorite piece of game music came out of 8.

I didn't realise this until I started playing Star Fox 64 last week, but the music from those games really is stellar

The Daytona theme song for Dreamcast gets special mention, even though it is incredibly annoying, it is still ridiculously catchy.

My favorites, though are Comix Zone for Genesis, Doom for SNES (crappy port, but the sound in that game is so heavy), Gradius 3 for SNES, and the music that plays during the last level's loading screen for Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood.

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind.

Also good was that CD with the real versions of the songs.

And again all human ingenuity goes into either sex, drugs, or nerdity.

While that was cool, I'd feel pretty empty after it was over.

Best song from a video game is from Grand Theft Auto.

It was back in 1849,
At the Springfield Golden Nugget Mine,

That my great-grandma Dolores saved the day,
When she propped the shaft and saved the lives,
Of the other forty other Springfield wives,
When all ma grandpa's buddies ran away

The menfolk found their women scary,
Cos they were so big and hairy,
They thought of dynamite to seal them in

Gramps was known as 'Chapped Lips Calhoun',
He was in the local saloon,
In came Billy-Joe Walton through the door,
He said "They're blown the Golden Nugget!"
My grandaddy said "Oh f....darn it!"
"You've buried my Dolores, my sweet little golden 'ore"

Swing it, son

Now my grandaddy jumped up from his table,
Finished his jug,
And he got up to that mine just as lickety-darn-split as he could,
Stopped off to fetch a shovel,
Feed the dogs,
Brush his teeth,
Clean the John and give his hoss one final rubdown

Cos a cowboy's life ain't easy and a cowboy's life is hard,
You can take him from the saddle,
But he'll be forever scarred

Cos my grandpa was a man in love,
Called Dolores his 'prairie dove',
And he told her that he loved her with every sigh

Cos she never once forgave him,
Even underneath the cave-in,
But he knew she would forgive him,
In that goldmine in the sky

Goldmine in the sky

The first one. The lyrics are from the country song. If you are playing on the Playstation, its the song that plays in the old pickup truck.

But actually, my favorite music is probably from Final Fantasy VI. I also love most music from NES. I love Shadowgate/Deja Vu/Uninvited's music. Anything Zelda is awesome as well.

go to youtube, search for "Mushihimesama Futare last boss" (copy/paste the phrase). That music is crazy, which perfectly matches the video.
