I like to pretend that robotgumshoe doesn't post.
anyway, I just found FLCL to be TOO nonsensical and annoying for my tastes. I usually like anime where I can get into the plot and grow attached to the characters.
I did like magical shopping arcade though.

I enjoyed the ending with the scooter, but I haven't seen enough FLCL to warrant giving an opinion on it.
I do recommend BoBoBo-Bo-BoBoBo, though. If you're in to really fucked up TV.

Bobobobobobobobo is complete random annoying gibberish and zero character development. I'm assuming that if JEW didn't like FLCL than he wouldnt like bobobo. Unless maybe he really likes North Star parodies.

with that said, I enjoyed GTO immensely. I was sad with the improper ending that they gave it.

I liked the anime ending better than the manga's ending.

I haven't read the manga. it's just that the anime ending felt kinda forced. kinda like "oh shit! we forgot that we have to end this in two episodes!"

here is the some of the best anime out there... (in no particular order)
1.) Basilisk
2.) Fooly Cooly
3.) Ninja Scroll the movie
4.) Cowboy-bebop movie
5.) Planetes (social comedy highly recommened)
6.) Fruits Basket (also highly recommended)
7.) Karin (questionable/ok)
8.) Kenshin + Samarai X OVAs
9.) Death note (fraking awesome)
10.) Full Metal Alchemist
11.) Bleach/Naruto/DBZ (they're ok)
12.) Princess Mononoke (a movie, very good)
13.) Castle in the Sky (a movie)
14.) Spirited Away (a movie, very good)
15.) I can hear the ocean (movie, decent)
16.) Trigun 00 (haven't watched but heard good things)
17.) Blue Gender (pretty good)
18.) Evangelion (is ok)
19.) Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (just watch the movie)
20.) Azu Manga Daoio (didn't watch much very random, but a decent number of people like it)
21.) Tenge Tijou (a soft-care porn with decent story)
I have a few more but that' what i have off the top of my head right now... And I can vouch heaviyl for any all of them, except for the ones that got the "ok" next to their title... the rest are definitly worth watching...and even better yet, barring DBZ, Nauto, and Bleach, they're all about 26 episodes yaaaa...

Depending on when they made the show, they may very well have had that happen, if the manga wasn't done yet and they caught up to it with the animation. GTO anime features a few filler episodes that never happen in the manga, and then there's some stuff that is way toned down in comparison to the manga, too.
Show is real good and I like the voice of GTO, but the manga's got even more story to it. It's pretty rare that I'd take an anime over its manga brother.

I watched it in japanese, and then when I got it in english I was very surprised at the voice actor that they chose for onizuka.
SHit, now I wanna watch that again.
ever see kekkaishi? it's kind of like bleach, but it ends before it gets a chance to suck.
