I liked robotech when I was a kid. sometimes these things have to be adapted for western audiences.

iHated the way it bastardized things. ALthough they made some badass games that were mishmashes of Other games. Another Centurys Episode SUper Robot Wars and an upcoming strategy called Chaos Wars.

Just make sure you turn out all the lights and sit a foot from the screen to alleviate distractions, not turning away, and watch it all back to back three times or else you'll miss the plot. It's that complicated.

I remember watching the first episode and out of nowhere it started showing manga pictures. I mean instead of moving pictures they flashed pics from the manga, still images. The show is fucking stupid.
For total awsomeness try Baki the Grappler.

Ummm... One of the main ideas behind FLCL was to expirement with different art styles, and break from the norm of traditional Anime. There are also many cultural references and satire in the series.
Personally, I loved it.
Other good ones:
Ranma 1/2 - My all time favorite anime series
Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi - Bizare, but awesome series.
Golden Boy - Only 6 episodes, but all of them are awesomely funny.

Personally, I don't agree with saying that you do not like something, because it is "Stupid", "Gay", "Retared", etc.
That's not really a valid arguement.
That is simply an opinion without any supporting facts. You could simply say, "I didn't like it, as the plot and characters did not hold my interest, or the style seems to be too abstract from what I am used to and/or enjoy."
I am not trying to flame you, but let's try to keep some maturity to Syd's. One reason that many of us come here, is because we can have intelligent conversations with one another, as opposed to the "OMG!!!1!!! U R THE SUXXOR!!!!!" that has infested far too many other forums.

1. "The plot and characters were negatively unappealing" is meaningless. You simply found them unnappealing. There is no need to add the word negatively to the sentence.
2. "i killed many braincells during the 6 minutes i watched it". Hmm, can you verify that you killed braincells due to the show? No, what you mean is, "I found this show to be meaningless/random/juvenile/hackneyed.
3. "Now that is fact". Nothing here is a fact. Its all opinion. Poorly justified and worded opinion.
4. "Fair enough". Your post did not satisfy the criteria for an intelligent post.
I would like to note that if you discounted every movie and TV show that didn't pull you in by the six minute mark, your library would be significantly smaller. Or perhaps you have ADHD, in which case it would be the same. In any case, I would hardly call six minutes a reasonable amount of time to render any sort of verdict on the series.
In conclusion, your post is a terrible failure, and you should feel bad.
