Wouldn't it be great if Nintendo could re-make one of the greatest games ever made Ocarina of Time? (preferably Masters Quest) I mean shit if they can remake SMB3 (great game) like 2 times why can't they remake Ocarina? They just keep fucking porting that game it is getting old (it is on the Zelda 2 disc thing, the collectors disc, VC, and a fucking demo on Brawl). Man if they re-make that game they'll definitely make money (but its Nintendo) and they don't have to think of some new crazy idea for a storyline like:
Link's friend gets kidnapped by the Gerudo Gangsters and the kingpin Big G (that's right Gannondorf)
(Assuming Link is in the 21st century)
And of course he has to save Zelda, get the Master Sword, and get rid of Gannondorf. I think if they have to go that far you'll see some Moblins doing a drive by, a Darknut with a shotgun, and the Great Fairy will just be some big, fat, gay, guy.
Well anyway I doubt Nintendo will ever do this it's Nintendo but if they do let me be the first to say "you're welcome"

Or they could just update the engine and graphics add some new features and make a different story so you'd have more of a fresh experience, but I think they've already done that.

That doesn't make any sense. The only "remakes " i can think of are the port to allstars and the gba version. Both of which seem like enhanced ports. In no way can you call those remakes. A remake goes from the ground up. The FF3 for ds was a remake. The upcoming FF4 is going to be an extremely badass remake. The one on the gba while baddassness was intact was a port.
I still dont see all the fanboys yelling for a ps3 FF7 upgrade and i dont see many people really accepting that nintendo was in the lab creating a remake of a game they can play on multiple consoles. Especialy when they can be making a brand new zelda experience.
I play my fair share of Ocarina and i wouldnt touch a remake for shear uselessness.

Re-make or port I assumed a port was a game that was just taking to a different system and a re-make was a game with new graphics, controls and new features and that's what I still think either way if they can make a better version of OoTMQ for Wii that would be what I would hope for.
Regardless, I thought Twilight Princess was too damn easy considering there are like 8 bosses before Gannondorf. By pointing out the fact that they are running out of good storylines for these games is why they need to make this game again: harder dungeons, refined graphics, new mini games, perhaps add another dungeon (for the Light Medallion).

Star Was released in the 70's. They released another theater version in the mid 90s with new features graphics and scenes. Is that a remake?

I'd rather see an updated Zelda 2 tbh. 2D or 2.5D plz. Zelda suffers in the third dimension.

I would like to see an Ocarina "remake" in the vain of "A Nightmare in Dreamland", or "Zero Mission" which is to say, some altered mini-games and bonus features, but otherwise a graphic overhall of "Kirby's Adventure" and "Metroid" respectively. That would be alright. Historically speaking, remakes on that vain have been really really good.
As for the modern Zelda thing...no...just....no. That's retarded.
But before any of that, I would like to see new games being made. Twighlight Princess owned and I think thoroughly proved that Nintendo isn't running out of story ideas.

Wait... what?! They are remaking FF4 (FF2 North American?!) I know they did a remake for the GBA back in December, but please tell me another remake will be released for the Wii or PS3... please please please.
I hate handhelds, but love FF4.

Thou, because I am wroth, be not dismayed, for I shall win the strife, whoever circle round within for the defence. This their insolence is not new, for of old they used it at a less secret gate, which still is found without a bolt. Above it thou didst see the dead inscription; and already on this side of it
descends the steep, passing without escort through the circles,
One such that by him the city shall be opened to us. |

Remake Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness, cause the game sucks and is noticeably incomplete and unfinished. It's barely a beta!

The remake, which has already been released in Japan, is on the DS. It is done in the same style that FF3 DS game was done, which is to say that it's redone to look like FF7. It will be released in America on July 22.
The GBA version of FF4, Final Fantasy IV Advance, came out in December 2005 and was a staple of most GBA displays from that point until December 2007, when most retailers finally cut out their GBA inventory in favor of more Wii and DS shelf space. That game was more or less a straight port of the SNES game but abilities like Pray and Recall that were cut out of the previous American version added back in.
It is speculated that the 3D DS remakes may be leading up to a Final Fantasy VII port for the the system.

Final Fantasy VII DS will be cool, but I can't wait 'til Square Enix gets around to remaking VI. Now that would be awesome.
Nintendo should focus on creating a new Zelda title, not remake one we've all played hundreds of times before. Remaking Ocarina of Time will just push the inevitable release of the next Zelda further and further into the distance.

At their current pace, the next Nintendo handheld will be out before they get around to 7.
Also, speculated where? I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere other than this thread.

You mean like how people speculated FF7-9 would all receive PS2 remakes?
DS won't still be the standard in 2011, btw.

A lot of the early GB games could benefit from remakes. Nintendo should do a Gameboy Classics Remix cartridge for the DS with redone versions of Kid Icarus: Myths and Monsters, Super Mario Land, Metroid II: Return of Samus, Kirby's Dream Land, Mole Mania, and Wario Blast.

That sounds about right. A lot of good games really slipped through people's radars in those days, though they're all good games that are still appreciated by hardcores to this day. Also, It'd be nice to play the stuff in something besides green and black vertigo-vision.

There was talk not to long ago that Interplay wanted to re-enter the gaming industry and a new Earthworm Jim game was one of the titles they were looking at developing. Baldur's Gate, MDK, and Descent may be seeing new sequels as well.
EDIT: As of five days ago, all four of these games are definitely happening. See here.

New MDK? Sweet, now carving that mural of Max, Doc, and Kurt over the entirety of my back doesn't seem like such a waste anymore.
