The inclusion of Pit in Brawl really makes me long for a new Kid Icarus game. I would like it to play like a more refined, more polished version of SSE.

There's a lot of kickass directions they could take a new Kid Icarus game. I think if they really put some effort into it, they could really do a lot to impliment the wii-cucks capabilities.

It's pretty high on my list. Nintendo could do a lot to revive it's franchises. Earthbound and Kid Icarus both jump directly to mind.

Supposedly IGN did some cocktease about Kid Icarus for Wii possibly arriving before the end of 08. I only heard about it though, I didn't read the actual article.

it should be gritty and realistic.

also, it should be a sandbox game.

also, it should have a huge soundtrack of licensed bands that sucks and are popular.

Actually Factor 5 (or whoever the guys behind Rogue Squardon were) was rumored to be working on a new Kid Icarus game for the Wii.

Nintendo will probably fuck it up. They have totally mismanaged most of their strongest and biggest holdings for the past few years.

Don't forget the RPG elements that add nothing to it.

And demand precision from the Wii controller.

I would argue with that to an extent. While Star Fox and Kirby got fucked up pretty bad as of recentlly, the Wii's been a turnaround on a lot of their franchises. Super Mario Galaxies, Twighlight Princess and Metroid Prime 3 are all fantastic games, so it's reasonalbe to think they could handle a new Kid Icarus.

Star Fox was fucked up because Nintendo handed it off to third parties though. Kirby's been all right. Canvas Curse was awesome, Squeak Squad was kinda meh. Also, those two properties have been around consistently since their inception. Meanwhile it's been 17 years since the last Kid Icarus game. Also, consider that the last Nintendo franchise to be revived after a long hiatus was Metroid and the Prime series was very successful, both financially and critically.

If Nintendo made a Kid Icarus game, you can bet they'd do it up right... assuming you enjoyed Prime 3, Mario Galaxy, and Twilight Princess.

It sounds like you are not considering the following:

* Virtual Console
* Wii Sports
* Nintendo DS & Wii

I think you should take a peek at this:

EVERYTHING will be handed with unresponsive wiimote gestures.

Another franchise Nintendo needs to resurrect is Wario's Woods. That was one of my favorite Nintendo puzzle games. Nintendo should also resurrect the Battle Clash series as well as release them into the Virtual Console.

Wario Woods, Kirby's Avalanche, Tetris Attack, all were pretty much the same game. Pokemon Puzzle League was Tetris Attack with pokemon crap. Wait for it to come to VC, unless they make some drasitc changes to the mechanics, I don't see a need for a Wii version.

I still say Boonga Boonga needs to be ported to the Wii.

Not to be rude or anything, but I have to say (or rather, type) some things:

1.) Tetris Attack is actually the U.S. release of a game called Panel de Pon. However, the latter game was actually about a flower fairy named Lip, while the former game was about Yoshi beating the crap out of Bowser or something.

2.) Kirby's Avalanche is actually Puyo Puyo under the guise of Kirby. It was originally released as Super Puyo Puyo in Japan.

3.) Wario's Woods is mostly unrelated to the first two games in my own opinion. In stead of simply dropping blocks on other blocks, you actually have Toad pick up bombs and place them on little monsters to blow them up.

4.) The NES version of Wario's Woods is already on the Virtual Console. It was one of the first games I downloaded into my Wii, actually.

5.) Why shouldn't Nintendo remake Wario's Woods, especially with Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection?

Lip's Stick, the weird flower wand thing in Melee and Brawl is a reference to Panel de Pon.

Kid Icarus has a ton of potential on modern consols. Fire Emblem has taken off since the brought it to America and the Metroid series absolutely thrived after it's revival, so I see no point in not doing it.

I would also like to see the Mother series get brought back (and preferably, in the US this time).

Sorry to bring back an old topic, but I felt this was relevant news:

Quote:
When fans debate which of their plentiful wells Nintendo will be returning to for their next big title, Kid Icarus is always a popular suspicion. Now, IGN's Matt Casamassina has basically confirmed that it's on the way to Wii. On episode 7 of the IGN Nintendo Voice Chat podcast Casamassina says, "Of course [Nintendo is] going to have some E3 surprises. You know, Kid Icarus, for crying out loud, how many times do we have to say Kid Icarus? Kid Icarus is coming for crying out loud." When a co-host asks if he wants to reveal the developer he responds "I think we've confirmed it a billion times but no, I'm not going to say it officially."

Adding more fuel to the fire on this week's show Casamassina said "Kid Icarus, that's another one that I'm really anticipating just because I love the franchise and I'm sure that the developer will make a really pretty game." It looks like we'll have to wait for July to hear anything official from Nintendo but, if Casamassina is to be believed (we've asked him for further clarification), a Wii version of Kid Icarus seems to be all but a done deal.

Factor 5 has had their hands in quite a few good games. The fact that they are helping with Kid Icarus pleases me.
