I love arguing with bible thumpers about how easter eggs bunnies and whatnot are holdovers from Paganism that early Chrsitianity adopted to make their religion more palatable to upcoming converts (same deal with the Christmas tree)

I don't know why they are so defensive about it. It helps though if you phrase it in a way to suggest a sharing of cultures rather than the typical athiest tack of "HAHA! YOUR RELIGION IS A LIE NOW READ DANIEL DENNETT!!!"

Peanut butter eggs? How sad, I feel pity for you all.
Everyone knows that Cadbury creme eggs trump every candy ever invented.

People are forgetting the chocolate-covered marshmallow eggs, mofos.
But creme eggs are better, I'll concede.

They're more seasonal than you'd think. I bought one in February, so I could claim the year's first Cadbury Cream Egg, and it was uncharacteristically hard.....like it wasn't ripe yet

I have yet to meet a candy egg I didn't like. Cadbury, Reese's Peanut Butter, or those other ones with the thin candy shell... all good stuff.

By inserting pagan reverence for the goddess Eoster's symbols; the hare and the egg (fertility) as a marketing ploy.

I miss those old Cadbury's commercials with the bunny in the chicken suit. Or something like that, who the fuck knows.

Just Breaking the Spell and Darwin's Dangerous Idea. I live in a small conservative community, so its not like we have a vast library of athiest writings. Our christian selection is fantastic though, if your into that sort of thing.
I think I should have gone with Dawkins or Hitchens instead. Dawkins is better known, and Hitchens is a bigger ass.
Shouldn't this be split into a different thread? It is distracting from discussing how absolutely delicious cadbury eggs are.
