Anyone see the trailer for this?

Michael Pitt, despite creeping the hell out of me and being part of Gus Van Sant's mumblefuck "Last Days," is a pretty good actor. And I've read reviews that say this movie is quite possibly the most unsettling movie they've ever seen, which does nothing but pique my curiosity. I'm pretty psyched to go see it when it gets a wide release. Anyone else amped? Or know when it is being released nation-wide (limited release is this Friday).

Thou, because I am wroth, be not dismayed, for I shall win the strife, whoever circle round within for the defence. This their insolence is not new, for of old they used it at a less secret gate, which still is found without a bolt. Above it thou didst see the dead inscription; and already on this side of it
descends the steep, passing without escort through the circles,
One such that by him the city shall be opened to us.

I would be remiss if I didn't say that Tim Roth is the fucking man too.

For those that aren't aware, it's actually a remake of a German film. Same director, though.

I saw the trailer in front of "Strange Wilderness" which by itself was weird. No one plays strung out quite like Naomi Watts. Is it wrong to think she looks her hottest when she's crying? Embarrassed

Yeah, i read the remake wasnt as good as the original though. its kind of funny the original was made in '97, only 11 years ago.

Just saw it... and I am firmly convinced that I will be one of the few people that really like it.

Obvious message within the movie, delivered very well. And it fucks with your mind a bit, which is always a plus in my book.

Didn't the Wilson brothers remake Bottle Rocket like two years after they made the first version?

Kubo, I understand that in the original there was a pretty crazy bit with a remote control. I won't say more in order to avoid spoilers, but you'd know what I mean if you saw it. Is that retained in the new one?

Completely retained. From what I gather, the entire thing is a shot-for-shot remake. One thing I will say about the remote scene- it's a very clever/subtle way to emphasize the point of the movie.

That doesn't count. They shot a black and white short film (of the robbery without the robbery) and then used it to get financing to shoot the film. A tactic I'm highly in favor of.
