I wanted to like birdie cause he looks interesting, and I like grapplers, but he just plain sucks.

Between birdie, sodom, and R. Mika, the grappler selection was aweful. Best to stick with zangief when you can I suppose.

its funny that alpha's only good grappler was a guy from II, yet III had hugo and alex, who rock.

My theory right now as to why III grapplers dont suck is that they have more going for them than the 360 grapple. Alex is more of a hybrid, while hugo also has an anti-air, boosted defense, the handclap thing, and that jab thats absolutely perfect for poking.
A luchador? I wonder if he'll be an agile grappler with a fiery personality?

sorry guys, but this guy looks okay to me. how can you complain about luchadores getting old, when there are five hundred shotos, eighty million boxers, seventy five pallete swapped ninjas, rampant schoolgirls, eighty nine trillion wrestlers, sixteen hickboxers, and forty five point eight female assasins in the world of videogames?

well, as long as the luchador has to take off his mask if he loses his matches, like they do in mexican wrestling.
at least they used to do that way back in the day*.
*by back in the day i mean when i was a kid about 15-20 years ago

I like the idea of hickboxers.
In any case, I'm not complaining about him being a luchadore. Its that they are almost all the same, except for Griffon. How about a mexican luchadore with a fat gut and heel persona? Raiden doesn't count.

luchadors never took off their masks for losing a match. in fact, they kept the identity so secret that they would go out and party and stuff while wearing the mask. the only time that they took off the mask was as a great honor.
griffon mask wasn't a luchador?

No, griffon is a luchador, but he doesn't act like the other luchadores. The douche with the eyepatch in KoF is more the standard, despite not having a mask.
(Luchadores only lose their masks when they agree to a mask match. This is usually done with older luchadores, so they can retire.)

Yeah, I remember "conan el vampiro canadiense" lost his mask by some BS disqualification because the ref was a fucked up asshole. so he lost his mask way before he retired.

That's a far cry (tm) from Capcom's original vow to bring the game to every platform possible. Where's the PS2 version? The Wii version? PSP? DS? Wonder Swan Color?
Fuck you, Capcom.

They just made the biggest mistake they could ever make. ever. As soon as it comes out, People will torrent the PC version like it's goin' out of style!
And yeah, it does suck that no Nintendo console or any handheld'll get it (for now...?)

Zangief was always the true wrestling character for me. At one time he had like 13 throws--including an air throw, in the Arcade. I think it was the World Warrior game actually. They've never made a more versatile wrestling character than the original Russian himself. Comparable only to probably King from Tekken.
I'm looking forward to this. I need to get it and tear it up online And at the arcade, which is a ton of fun. You can video of this game now, in a promo type version that you'd see at Gaming Conventions.
