Being as how i learned of that whole 2 being 4 and 3 being 6 maybe in 2002ish 6 will always be 3 to me as 4 will be 2. It feels like some weird retcon of my life to call it anything else.

Toss up between SMB3, GTA3, & MK3 for me, but since GTA was so different and such an improvement from the first two, I had to go with it.

I agree. Whereas most of the other 3s were just slightly improved versions of their predicessors, GTA III completely re-invented itself, and revolutionized the whole world of "Open Sandbox" games.

Since I'm old skool, I had to choose SMB 3. But only the NES version cuz you get 28 Pwings when you beat it.
EDIT; By the way: wheres Super Metroid? That's Metroid 3 Isn't it? I change my vote to Super Metroid, but will retain my vote for SMB 3.

Super Mario Bros 3 and GTA III are real toss ups for me. I did like Resident Evil 3, but despite the changes it was too derivative. Sonic The Hedgehog 3 only counts with Sonic & Knuckles attached.
Clock Tower 3 was fun too.
