Your thinking of Dragon Ball Z. Dragon Ball was a hilarious Journey to the West inspired romp complete with womans panties.

I'd ask for an explanation, but common sense warns me that it will only lead me to my further descent into madness.

If your descending into madness why would you listen to common sense?

Because I'm a madman. And madmen need no reason for the wacky things we do.

Like listening to reason.

Well casting ex Real World members in main parts makes me think they have no idea what they are doing. Cept James Marsters. Just cause hes cool.

One person though? I don't agree that's enough to condemn a film. Especially when aspiring actors and filmmakers try out for Real World. It's all publicity to launch a career.

But such a complete unknown for whats gonna be a much analyzed movie. DB has such a anything less than perfection will probably rip it to shreds. I just think its incredibly risky for something so well known.

On the opposite side Marsters is completely dedicated to the role. And hes a fan of the series.

Hell yeah to Marsters, but again I disagree with the casting of a complete unknown. I'm a huge fan of casting unknowns (mainly because I think there's a difference between casting a celebrity and an actor). That said, Jamie or whoever is not a complete unknown. Evangeline Lilly was a complete unknown when she got casted on "Lost" because she literally didn't have a speaking role before, or Edward Furlong in T2 who was found by the murderous stalker of a casting director.

Seriously, celebrities in every role do not a good film make.

Actually im completely against have a big name for well known parts as well. It just makes movies feel gimmicky, especially when its such an obvious casting choice. All these actors are using their fame to get well known comic parts just really bothers me. Nicholas Cage was campaigning to play Superman as he was such a big fan, pushing his A list cred around. Luckily they didn't select him.
Cloverfield is a great example. It didn't have big name actors and i think thats what helped make it work

It just seems to me that the real world girl is just jumping onto this movie as she knows shell be seen. As it she susing it for fame. But who knows.

I really think I'd be a better poster about this if I weren't so buzzed, especially when you say thank goodness Nic Cage wasn't Superman. But again I'll defend the random Real World chick who I don't know and never heard of before, because to casted in a major role in a movie when you're not Nic Cage means you had multiple good auditions. That takes some chops. Honestly, it sounds like an actor just trying to get a part. Sure it might help the career, but more importantly it's work.

Speaking of Superman, I just need to mention Christopher Reeve for being the best casting choice ever for anything.

I agree on the Christopher Reeves (may he RIP) being perfect for superman and i also agree that casting uknown actors can be better as they will give it their all to gain recognition.

I thought Lou Diamond Phillips was great in La Bamba.

Nicolas Cage actually got paid to play Superman, despite never doing so. In the mid-90s, he was contracted to a Superman movie that never made it out of preproduction.

Yeah really, if you cut out all the scense where they do powering up face offs while screaming and glowing and trading bad one liners the whole series would probably fit on one disc.

Cage is a good actor, he's just not always in good movies. I mean, it's not Ghostrider sucking was his fault. It was a mediocre script and they made Blackheart incredibly lame.

He really is. His early career was amazing... I even love his action movies of the mid 90s. Ahhhhhh. ^_^

So, we're agreed, Nic Cage should not be in DragonBall.
