No way. When I want caffeine, I reach for a warm can of diet soda.

Does anyone here drink Starbucks often, or at least go to a coffee shop regularly?

I've worked at Seattle's Best stores (which are owned by Starbucks) for the past two and a half years. The job is awesome, but it's hard trying to justify buying a four dollar and then some cup of coffee (Although I get half price on drinks anytime at my current store, which helps). I'm also writing a research paper on Starbucks right now, which is why I'm interested.

Does Dunkin' Donuts count as a coffee shop? Wink

The price doesn't matter to me, not as much as the fact that I might need caffeine, and I just want it the quickest way possible. If Starbucks is closest, so be it. Besides, you can get a large regular coffee from there for 1.99 with tax anyway.

I hate coffee though, so lately I just grab a Dr. Pepper, as it has almost twice the amount of caffeine that Coke & Pepsi have.

I'd rather just get enough sleep though, that's best, but difficult.

I always just take home a case of energy drinks from work every two weeks.

But I'm a Seattle's best guy myself. I don't really see the coffee being better or worse, but I like the environment. I like being able to sit around in a comfortable chair and do work on my laptop (RIP) or hang out with friends, or even just read a book and kill a few hours. This is why I go to Panera bread too. Any Starbucks I've ever been to just had a few rickety tables set up.

I'm also curious why Starbucks is so much more expensive than Seattle's best when they're the same company.

What we have in roswell is a Hastings. Its a book/movie/music store, but ours also has a coffee shop called the Hardback cafe. You can sit there and read the books for free, so I treat the place like a library. Except this library has really comfortable chairs, the books are kept up to date, and you can indulge in a tasty beverage for a reasonable price.

I don't drink coffee. I get hot chocolate occasionally from the dozen Chicago Dunkin' Donuts though.

I am, but I used to and looks like I will continue to do so.

Sidenote: Returning to Chicago in March for awhile. Cattivo, rejoice.

Yay, just in time for my birthday! Razz

Seriously dude, it will be nice for you to suffer through this weather too. Had to brush six inches worth of snow off of my car this morning - and I'll have to brush off more when I get to the train station this evening, cuz it didn't stop snowing till 11 this morning.

Yeah, I've gotten a few emails about the horrible weather... I kind of miss it. Here in L.A. today it's bright, sunny, and I think it's in the 70s somewhere. I have to keep reminding myself it's not spring. Some of my friends are off golfing right now. It's a madhouse. A MADHOUSE!!!

I try to avoid those. I went through twelve of them in the course of one night a few weeks back.

Agreed with Val on Timmy Ho's. It is seriously the greatest coffee ever. I do however stop at the Starbucks in Safeway because I know three rather (ie. VERY) attractive ladies that work there. I'm what we call the Starbucks Pimp lol. I'll only get coffee (a Large (ain't calling it by it's real name) Mocha) if one of them is there and they throw caramel sauce and other awesome shit on it.

eh, only coffee i care for is the french vanilla at circle k. dont care for all that fancy shmancy BS.

if i want a quiet place to go to, i'll go to the museum. free on tuesdays after 3pm up to 10pm and its on my way home from work. or just go to a dive bar. the dive bar i go to near my house is a wifi hotspot for some weird reason, so i can just chill there and drink too.

or any lounge w/live music usually helps to just relax.

I live in a town called Hastings. However, there is a Hastings book store/coffee shop in a town 30 miles away, so I know what you're talking about

I'm more of Dunkin' Donuts myself (I want my coffee with my breakfast sandwich, bitch) but when I'm in the city with my sis (or friends) I chill at Starbucks with them, just cause the chicks is hot (and the free wi-fi.)

Coffee...

I have been clinically diagnosed with both OCD & ADD. A simple cup of coffee causes me to bounce off of walls like a super-ball for about 30 minutes. The energy is wild and uncontrollable. After that I am struck with a terribly difficult decision:

Choice 1: Clean the mess I made over the last 30 minutes
Choice 2: Use the restroom because like an idiot I put cream in the coffee and am lactose intolerant.

By the time I lower my anxiety enough to make a choice I am usually feeling better, but am exhausted, so I just go and do whatever is the next thing on my mind.

I really wish I were making this up.

wow man, that's fucking intense. I got OCD too, but it's not affected by coffee lol. For those of you not in the know, Tim Horton's is a lot like Dunkin Donuts as far as I know. They're one of the few things I miss about Canada when I travel.
