I was working on a master chief using sprites from halo zero with a few other people, but that's a trainwreck.

oh yeah, you're using my game. things are set up a little differently in there. might be a tad confusing.

open up the folder labeled "categories" and open the "select.def" in notepad. then hit CTRL+F (or edit>find...) and search for the anime category (you can use the quick find thing that I put at the top of the page, I think it was [ANI]). Once you're in the anime category, find an open slot (it'll say CharaName[###]). paste or type alucard's filename in that spot, jsut like the rest of the characters are. you can either replace the whole line, or put a ; after alucard's file name and leave the [###] and a description after it for organizational purposes (like I do).

so these are wrong:
alucard[###]
alucardCharaName[###]
alucard CharaName[###]
aalucard [###]

any of these are right:
alucard
alucard;[###]
alucard ;Alucard from hellshing [###]

then save it, go into the "icons" folder (if you use the icon select too. if you jsut use categories you can skip this whole step). open up THAT "select.def" scroll down till you find any open "randomselect" and replace that with his filename again. save it, fire up mugen, see if it works.

also, when you unzip him, make sure it didn't create a duplicate folder. there should be one folder with all the files in it, not a folder with another folder full of files inside. also make sure that the folder and the .def inside are the same. they should both be "alucard."

normally in mugen you just open the select.def and type the name on a new line. I'm an organizational freak though.

you can find lots of stuff on torrent sites, but usually you'll get a lot of shitty shit packed together with a few awesome things.

if you want, you can use an older version of my mugen, with lots and lots of stuff installed (my current one is a lot nicer)

you probablydeleted them.

maybe you made them hidden? go int oyur folder options and make sure it's not set to hide hidden files and folders.
