The main reason Nintendo went with mini-discs for the GCN was to prevent piracy. However, since the Wii uses full-size discs, I was thinking it's probably possible to burn a GCN game to full-sized DVD and then run it on the Wii. Does anyone know if it can be done? Do you need a special boot disc?

I have really been wanting to play Hudson Selection Volume 4 as of late...

Can you? I have DreamMix TV: World Fighters, but I've never tried it without FreeLoader.

At this point though, these games are all long since out of print, so the cost to import them is more than I'd like to pay and they're hard to find anyway.

Whereas I already have the Freeloader and it's still a two disc process, there's no real advantage.

what's a wiikey?

also, some nerd found out how to use the gamecube broadband adapter to stream pirated games from your PC to the gamecube. I wonder if a similar theory would work on the wii.

Probably not. The Gamecube trick exploits a glitch in the original version of Phantasy Star Online I & II. I imagine even if you had a copy of the game, the Wii wireless works differently than the GCN wireless, so it would be a no-go.

I really don't mean to derail the topic...

But how is DreamMix TV World Fighters??? I've been hesitant to grab it up since I haven't played it myself (nor do I know anyone who's played it).

But with a roster containing Master Higgins, Bomber Man, Simon Belmont, and Optimus Prime, you can't go wrong... right?

any game where simon belmont can beat the shit out of transformers has to be the best game in the universe.

I mean, my mugen has richter belmont beating the shit out of transformers, but he's no simon.

It's pretty fun, it's basically Smash Bros. Melee Lite. The lack of trophies to unlock takes away some of the replayability, but it's still good times. There's a short challenge mode as well, called Caravan Mode.

Also, you forgot to mention the game has Megatron and Solid Snake as well. Oh, and Megatron and Optimus both transform. Megatron's gun mode is super cheap too.

I forgot about solid snake!

normally I'd say that any game with simon belmont, transformers, and solid snake in it must be the best game ever, but brawl is coming out.

solid snake beating the shit out of pokemon > solid snake beating the shit out of transformers.

It was released in Japan only on the PS2 and GCN. I imported it via some website a year or so ago. I forget which one.

I believe the only reason the game hasn't been released in the US is because Hasbro has the U.S. licensing rights to Transformers.

Yeah, that hung it up back then. Now I'd say it's too old... when was the last time a new GC game came out?

But they'll release a game for every system (two different versions on the GBA no less) based on that piece of shit movie. Actually, Transformers doesn't have a great track record of video games in general...
