so recently, my parents (I'm fifteen) installed some gay program called "kidswatch", which gives them the ability to set allotted times for internet, program, and computer (non-internet) use, set web filters, lock a user's account completely, send activity reports, and for some reason, track sex offenders in the area.

Right now, all they're limiting is internet, program, and computer time, as well as filtering, and it's bugging the hell out of me. especially because browsing online has always been a hobby (if you can call it that) of mine, so 2 hours daily doesn't cut it. and its EXACTLY 2 hours. The fucker will log off even if i'm trying to save homework or something equally important

This isn't really a call for help (though any help would be appreciated), I was just wondering other people's opinion on this in general.

by the way, sorry about the crappy poll choices, I've discovered I suck at making polls

I put in my 2 cents and said parents should stop being lazy.

But I never had a PC either as a kid. Only WebTV and that was very annoying on dial up. and I would spend most of my time playing video games too.

it's easy to say "parent's should watch their kids" but it's not so simple to actually do it.

I have a thirteen year old brother, and every chance he gets he logs onto ruinscape. I could be in the same room as him, walk into the kitchen for ten minutes, come back and find him clicking off of the ruinscape window hastily.

well, yeah. runescape and other shitty mmorpgs are just a waste of time. but if you just browse online, you can actually learn things. I've learned several things from sites that've come up when using stumbleupon

I own all of the online-enabled things in my house so I don't really care. The only time I would've had a similar problem was when we had dial-up, and back then I wouldn't be on the internet for more than an hour anyway because an hour of AOL is all the average person can take before logging off and/or killing themselves.

Somebody should fix the page.

I say parents should let their kids loose on the internet, but explain to them the kind of stuff to avoid. For the kids sake and to keep virus's and crap off the computer.
