I went on Circuit City's site and it was about the PS2 version. Seems like the wireless guitar doesn't work sometimes. Not sure if it's people's stupidity in not turning on the power button or if it's something else.

I haven't had any problems with the wireless PS2 guitar, but it does feel different than the plug-in guitar. The buttons don't "click" as much and they feel smaller. I prefer the plug-in myself.

Thou, because I am wroth, be not dismayed, for I shall win the strife, whoever circle round within for the defence. This their insolence is not new, for of old they used it at a less secret gate, which still is found without a bolt. Above it thou didst see the dead inscription; and already on this side of it
descends the steep, passing without escort through the circles,
One such that by him the city shall be opened to us.

Actually I'd heard it was the guitar in the first batches of ROCK BAND that was screwing up (wa-wa breaks, sometimes strings you didn't mean to involve register as being pressed, etc.).

sometimes the metal connectors between the neck and the body get dirty and don't make a good connection. also, sometimes people (I'm guilty) don't push the neck into the body until it clicks.

I just dislike the rounded shape of the guitar (because of the weird way that I hold it.) I think the 360 explorer is the best.

oh yeah, and rock band as a whole didn't seem very responsive to me. I wasn't having fun at all when I tried it.

I DO want to play "welcome home" sooooo badly though. and vocals look like fun. I only tried drums and guitar when I played.

Though there's been no official announcement yet, it looks like there's some downloadable content coming for Guitar Hero III, and, if the list is to be believed, it's going to be awesome. The songs are rumored to be "Any Way You Want It," by Journey, "Juke Box Hero," from Foreigner, and Boston's immortal classic "Peace of Mind."

Wait, we're talking about downloadable Wii tracks? Fuck, that would be awesome. I want some rock versions of the Mario and Zelda themes to play through.

Dammit.

Well, maybe that's why sathien was posting it though. Because GH downloadable content is super old news, like GH2 old. And the 360 version of GH3 had a DL pack with a fully playable version of The Devil Went Down To Georgia like a week after the game came out.

All I know is that there are talks about finally making downloads for the Wii's GH III. On another note:

Activision says, “We wanted to provide you with an update regarding the status of the Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock Wii replacement discs. The game has been approved by Nintendo and is currently in manufacturing. We expect to have the replacement discs available in February. Once we have the discs, we will contact you and then proactively send you a prepaid return envelop with a game exchange claim form. You should return the completed form with your current copy of the game. Once we receive a completed claim form and game, we will send you the replacement disc.”

It was released in mono when you were actually playing, the exchanged discs will have all 3 usual tiers of sound quality availible. Though I'm sure the friend codes will be different since it's a different disc.

How are they going to "proactively" send me a return envelope for the game? Do they somehow know everyone that has a copy of the game? Do they have fucking omniscience?

Also, that comic is stupid. "As Made Famous By Van Halen" is a fancy way of saying that the in-game version sounds like the Van Halen version, but due to licensing problems, it is not actually the Van Halen version.

actually, it's due to "we don't have the master tracks to seperate the guitar from the rest of the song and therefore had to rerecord all of the songs with a cover band to keep costs down" purposes.

1up.com wrote:
Will the Nintendo DS version of Guitar Hero, currently in development at Vicarious Visions, be titled Guitar Hero: On Tour? Trademark hunting blog Trademork found a trademark application for the title on the United States Patent and Trademark Office website, filed by Activision on January 19th. While the listing does not specifically mention the Nintendo DS (or any platform), it does apply to the following items:

Computer game software and related instruction manual sold together as a unit; interactive video game programs; computer game cartridges; computer game discs; downloadable software for use in connection with computer games; video game controllers; Interactive video game comprised of a cartridge or DVD sold as a unit with a video game controller.

As confirmed at the Austin GDC event last September, Guitar Hero for the DS will include some kind of peripheral attachment for use with the game. Potentially backing up this trademark filing is a Friday post from French website Wiiz.fr (via GoNintendo), which claims that Activision set a European release target of summer for Guitar Hero: On Tour for Nintendo DS, though the source of the information is unclear.

We know Guitar Hero is coming to the Nintendo DS, most likely in 2008, but will it be "On Tour" this summer? RedOctane could not comment on the title (as there's been no official announcement), so we may not know for sure (either way) until such an announcement comes along.

How about Ukelele Hero?

You only need 4 buttons for 4 stings. Strum with the d pad, and just tap the screen to enter star power.
