I don't mind if my health bar starts flashing or my character has some sort of graphical change (like he hunches over a bit or something, like Leon in RE4), but it's just mean to have a constant beeping like in the Zelda games. Sooner or later it ceases to be a critical health warning and it's more like a little fairy chanting "You suck, you suck, you suck..."

My Sydapedia page lists my game collection and friend codes, if you're interested. |

That reminds me...
I hate now that everytime you turn on the DS you get that dumb health warning. I don't know about you, but I sure as hell don't need my doctor's permission to play games.

The Wii is the same way. You get the health warning when you turn it on.
And every time you start up a game, you get a warning about how you should always use a condom.
Or maybe it's something about the wrist strap, I forget.

Yeah now that I think about it that camera was..."loose". I really do remember having to move it around a lot.

Oh man...memoriez™

I had to use my nose or my tongue I forgot what I used. The " halfway to the left, halfway to the right" part of it is what really screwed with my patience though. Ugh...

I hate games where you put your initals in with your high score but going from letter to letter takes years. |
Hence I never made an effort to put in my initials, however the primary pre-conceived reason was that I was rather apathetic regarding a high score unless it had something to do with unlocking a secret.
My high score lists were typically dominated with AAA.
Anyway, things I hate about games?
This is not a complaint(as in I approve of it's existence), but bottomless pits have almost always been more of a nightmare to me than enemies in platformers.
And one thing that sometimes frustrates me is a really well made and fun game that is somewhat irritating in one aspect by cheesiness, that was otherwise not camped up enough.
Star Fox 64, for example...
Oh, and Water Temple in Ocarina of Time...
The most nightmarish example of a non-linear level I've ever seen. I swear, even after I beat my first play through of O.O.T., I still would get stuck there, and theres never been a play through that I didn't. I would have to consult the internet every time.

Oh my god, I just gave myself a hernia thinking of that.
I also hate crappy controllers. I also hate Sonic haters, and PS3 "ganstas".

I'm assuming everyones talking about the one key in the Water Temple no one could find but it was right under the platform that rises up with the water the first time. What's funny about that is there's a cutscene (if you want to call it that) that shows that platform next to the spikes rising up. As if the game is saying "Hey asshole! Did you try looking down here?"
Man whenever I replay the Water Temple in OOT, I get that fucking key as soon as possible. Almost on reflex.

No I don't think thats it. It's kinda the level in general, but I remember one part thats about mmm I estimate 3/4ths through the level where I am utterly confused as to where to go. Perhaps 2/3rds through, I don't know. Like mentioned it's so non-linear that it's hard to remember.

I guess I'll play devils advocate and say that I truly did like the water temple. It was a little confusing but nothing really frustrating.

extreme mode in MGS2. insane damage. 20+ metal gear RAY prototypes to fight. the unerring difficulty of acquiring much needed rations. solidus' strangling sessions with raiden.
i think i broke two controllers during my year long quest to finish that mode.

It fit more in here.
I hate how in F.E.A.R you start out with a cool horror game, but it ends up turning into a Matrix style shootout.

--Landing on the aircraft carrier in Top Gun

--The fucking dog in Duck Hunt
--Cait Sith in FFVII. And for that matter, pretty much any of the other goofy kiddy characters in RPG's, such as Quina in FFXI and Chu-Chu in Xenogears. Damn the Japanese and their fucked up concepts of what's funny.

On the Canada level in Tony Hawk's Pro Skate 3, the shaters boo you for not landing tricks and call you a poser, but all they do is stand there with skateboards...

Those three coins at the end of the secret bonus coin areas in Super Mario Brothers... if I managed to get all three, it was only by sheer luck.

This. I'd always try desperately to do it but I'd usually only end up getting two of those fucking coins.

All you have to do is walk to the left side of the platform, and early on before it gets near the coins run across it and jump. It's all about timing.
