I'll Throw in Cannonball Run, Crocodile Dundee, Final Destination, Honey I Shrunk the Kids, and Porky's. I cant think of many other trilogies.

Beverly Hills Cop
Scream (although I think it's a bit overrated)
Aladdin (the direct-to-video films are just bullshit)
Austin Powers
Honey, I shrunk the Kids (there were 3 films I think)
Rush Hour
All in my opinion.
EDIT: I posted the same time erock did. Sorry.

I dont consider tv movies or those direct to home video/dvd true sequels tbh. If i did The king of this would be Land Before Time

The Austin Powers series. International Man of Mysteries was hilarious, Spy Who Shagged me was funny, and Goldmember was meh.

Here here! I especially like the part were the guards chain up iago's mouth.
I would like to put jaws on the table. The first one was awesome but it was down hill from there. And i know there is a forth jaws but everyone would like to think that one never happened to begin with.
I am also putting spiderman on the table because i still think the first one has more charm then the others, even though i am partial to the 2nd.

Incorrect! The correct answer is none of the Resident Evil movies are good.
How bout Superman? Need I mention the fiasco of Superman III. Oh that Richard Pryor's always causing trouble for Superman!
Bending the rules a little, but Batman; two out of four movies in the quadrilogy (not counting the restart at Begins) are extremely terrible.

The Superman franchise doesn't qualify because the second one was incredible.
I liked all the Austin Powers movies, even if it got a little old by the third one - hell, I was also one of the lucky few to see the original in the theatre.
Star Wars doesn't qualify either since the entire Original Trilogy was good, with many saying there was a dip in quality for the third. Now the prequel trilogy, was just bad all around, with a slight improvement by the last one.
The original Batman movie franchise certainly qualifies, but to me there is no better choice for this category than the Matrix trilogy, which Syd has mentioned already. The dropoff in quality is just so dramatic.

Didn't everyone see AP1 in theaters? I know I did. And I definitely remember people do bad Austin Powers impressions for months thereafter.

So agreed, though I only saw the 2nd and 3rd ones in theaters, and they were funny as fuck.

Here is a trilogy where even though all of the films are complete shit, the first one is the most watchable (but not by much): Problem Child
Is it okay for me wanting to piss on John Ritter's grave?

Hold on . . . they made a third problem child
Check:
Problem Child 3: Junior in Love The title alone makes me want to vomit like the crowed of people did on the ride junior monkeyed with in PC2.

I second that. The non-Tim Burton batman's are living proof that Batman and flashy colored lights go together like flashing colored lights and epilepsy.

Hellraiser. Though, the 2nd was pretty good. So, I would say that 1 & 2 were good and the other 15, or however many they have pumped out, are craptastic. (3 is good for the humor value, though.)

Generaly made for tv sequels/ trilogies or straight to dvd things will alwyas be shit. They usualy dont have the original actors or directors and are made fast so cash in. I'd say best example is matrix in terms of a real hollywood trilogy. SO much promise after the first yet so much disapointment.

The land before time has 1 awesome movie original and 12 craptastic direct to video sequels with . . . i'm not believing this, another one TBA this year:
make it stop! make it stop!
I've seen II, III and IV. The drop of quality is staggering between the original and II. And the drop continues to go down as the series continues. By IV i couldn't take it and vowed never to watch any further sequels.
But what pisses me off the most, is the fact that the original was awesome because it was different from any other animated movie, like a disney movie, such as THERE WAS NO FREAKING SINGING EVER FIVE MINUTES. I enjoyed the original land before time and even balto because they didn't have any music scenes, which seems to be a standard with animated movies in the hey day. Now, littlefoot and company will spontaneously break out into song. Man, i wish Bluth went with that rumored ending where the Greatvalley was the after life and all the dinosaurs died.
The world would not have to suffer then.

Hey im just waiting for Land Before Time XXXXVI: Boneyard Discovery and Land Before Time XXXXVII: The Great Museum Adventure. Watch as Littlefoot Sarah and the gang have their bones discovered and shipped to a history museum, only for it to have the bones of some new enemy/friend. Watch as the hijinks ensue.

Cinderella. Was the 2nd and 3rd movie even necessary? Oh wait, I forgot, it's Disney.
