I fucking hated the underwater levels in the Sonic games. Fuck you, Sonic. Why can't you hold your breathe forever like Mario?

The ending to Klonoa 1.

Some puzzles in Alundra.

Any time there's some item you can miss in an RPG, but you can't go back to get it later.

I hate bad collision detection and clunky controls. Like, in Yo Noid! and Hudson Hawk, there are many times when I *know* I made it onto the platform, and yet I fall into a pit and die. Lame. Very lame.

I hate ice levels in platformers, though that might be more envy than anything else. I mean, if you run in an ice level in a platformer, you just go really fast and have trouble stopping. Whereas if you run in an ice level in real life, you fall on your ass and crack your head open.

Of course, trying to break bricks with my head in mid-air has also proven to be somewhat unsatisfactory.

rain levels in platformers never made sense either.

why would the direction that the rain is falling really make it that difficult to jump properly?

Any sequence which involves rapidly pressing the same button over and over again, usually to get out of some kind of grapple. They're not challenging, hurt like hell and wreck your controller.

Dumbing down a series to try to give it more mass appeal.
(I'm looking at you Rainbow Six & Ghost Recon.)

Real Time Combat in RPGs. (ABS was okay.)

Stupid Percentage Totals in games.
(Gran Turismo 3, Castlevania Symphony Of The Night, etc.)

1. In Castlevania 1 for the NES, Simon can't kill Frankstein's monster with the monkey humping the back of his head.

2. In Silent Hill 2 searching for 10 little tiny things in a dark, zombie filled, closed off apartment.

Any game that wants us to believe that is perfectly normal for someone to lock a door with a key shaped like a medallion. Then break the medallian into numerous pieces, and then scatter the pieces all over the damn house.

Sigma's final form in Mega Man X4. It's very unpredictable.

They didn't include Comix Zone in Sonic Mega Collection (well, they did in Japan, and they also released it on Sonic Mega Collection Plus, but I don't have the consoles for that collection).

Trying to beat Boolossus in Luigi's Mansion. Specifically when you got to the last few Boos.

Those fucking dogs in Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

That, and world 8-1 of Super Mario Bros. 3. Kill it, reanimate it, then kill it again.

Also, in Zelda games things are going just fine in the kingdom when you before the Master Sword. After you get it all hell breaks loose. Maybe Link should just leave it in the pedestal.

I'm gonna come up with about a thousand of these after this post.

There are a lot of what if's in life Donny. What if I hit you really hard in the face, knocked yo shit to the back of yo skull? What if I....had you girl gargle my nuts? The fact remains, you are a fuckin mutant.

What's wrong with SotN? It's fun to see how high it goes. I think they have it up to like 429% or something now.

Pretty much every fucking level of Fire Emblem. God, I just lose every fucking time! In fact, that's how my DS broke. I lost a level that I'd been wokring on for over a month and just smashed it into the (carpeted) floor. I broke one the hinges off, but my Dad still thinks it fell off the couch so that's cool.

In 3D games, when the camera has a mind of its own and does whatever it wants (i'm looking at you Gex 64) and causes sever motion sickness.

And when programmers decide to be smart asses and make the sequence to unlock built in cheats damn near impossible to pull off. An example would be the debug mode in shadows of the empire, i literally have to use my chin to pull it off:

I've been playing some N64 lately, can you tell? Wink

Escort missions where the character you're escorting is too stupid to follow you, or at least stay out of enemy fire.

Also, Lloyd was in what now?

Having to hold down a button to scan for bounties in Star Wars: Bounty Hunter while a dozen guys shoot at you. And since the ones with bounties look exactly the same as those without until you scan them, you waste a good ten seconds in every fight scanning all your enemies.

I loved Gex 64 as a kid.

I hate games where you put your initals in with your high score but going from letter to letter takes years.

When someone would cause me to miss the big jump in Wario Stadium in Mario Kart 64. Then again, when I'm doing it to someone else it's funny as hell.

Crystal Man's stage in Mega Man 5 pissed me off pretty bad until I realized that you could just use Star Crash to avoid getting hit by those stupid fucking falling crystals. The first room of them was easy enough, but the second one I had trouble with.

Falling off a cliff for the 50 billionth time in Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire.
And yeah I've done that debug cheat in SOTE as well. Lots of fun.

When games use famous songs... and censor them.

The PS1 version Tony Hawk's Pro Skater took out the 2nd half of Police Truck. Then the Dreamcast version of the same game replaced it with some 90's pop sounding gay song, along with many other songs on the original.

Then, Guitar Hero Encore tied it to the ground and took a nice big shit all over it.

I hate RPG's that don't let you target individual enemies. I also hate when they let you waste an attack on a dead enemy.
