I watched it w/o sound at work. It does indeed look cool.

I had to read the play and watch the actual play for Theatre class in college. I can't imagine it being worse then that. But really why? How about the The Nibelungenlied. That could be a good one. Or Everyman.

I saw the trailer and it looked pretty nifty. I always thought Depp was a good actor... ever since 21 jump street heh.

Really nice film. Way f*ckin' better than "Chicago"... or pretty much any musical in the last ten years.

Better than Avenue Q? But yeah, I saw it last night (with no familiarity with the play) and I liked it.

This is something that would be good if it wasn't for Tim Burton being a big sensation with every teenage girl right now. I mean, I like Nightmare Before Christmas and all his other stuff, but it's just tunred into this huge, stupid trend and everday I have to see something from it wherever I go.

I'm no teen anymore so I have no clue what teeny boppers like, but I did enjoy this movie. I had no idea what the play was about, but the movie was good. Rather predictable but still enjoyable. Thumbs up from me.

It was pretty good. It wasn't as violent as I would have liked and I wanted to punch that fucking kid every time he started singing his fucking song about Joanna, but other than that, it was quite good.
Also, it shouldn't have been R. The blood was the only reason it was R and the blood was so fucking cartoonish that it should have been PG-13. I mean, the first Addams Family movie was only PG-13 and that had a scene where Puggsley and Wednesday hack off each other's limbs at the school talent show, resulting in theatrical-style bloodsprays, and this wasn't any different.

But they didn't DIE, they weren't hurt either. Remember the MPAA also comes down on story as well as content.
I liked that Tim Burton is still using the Hammer Horror blood from Sleepy Hollow.

In the tradition of Greek tragedy, Sweeney Todd was the instrument of his own undoing. If he hadn't decided to waste like 5 minutes singing a fucking duet with the judge, he could have slit his nemesis's throat and lived happily ever after.
