And A-Rod isn't on it. Too bad. It would have been fucking hilarious if the most overpaid, overrated player in the history of the sport was juicing...
Oh well.

That report seems almost useless to me, because it's probably only the tip of the iceberg for how rampant and widespread steroid use is in the MLB, and every other major sport.
At least it's a start though.

Well, it's probably a good thing that the Orioles traded Miguel Tejada.. But I find it a bit odd that Brian Roberts is on there.

So basically the only people in baseball left that aren't juicin are
1/2 of the managers
2/3 of the umpires
1 douche from the pirates

"Hi I'm Bo Jackson. I play football and baseball, excel at both, and blew out my hip in my 30s. No, I don't juice."

If Bo Jackson juiced, he could have come back from that injury!
Jose Conseco made the rounds on all the news channels today. All the people who called his book a bunch of opportunistic lies a few years ago are now praising him for his bravery in naming names.
And in reponse to a reporter's question about what big names weren't on the list, he said there were too many to list. Then he said that "A-Rod is not who he appears to be."
So either he's implying that A-Rod juices, or he's warning us that A-Rod has been replaced by a replicant.

They should just let all major sports let its players juice if they want. It would make sport a lot more amusing to watch. And, the fights would be about 100X bloodier, which is to mean, way more awesome!
And, it would just be funny.

What got to me about that stupid thing was when I came home and turned on the TV, and in the first milliseconds my eyes catch "BREAKING NEWS" in red and I think something exciting is happening, you know like World War III, nuclear holocaust, etc. But no I read steroid abuse in baseball.
Never mind the fact that anything to do with sports should not be BREAKING IMPORTANT FUCKING NEWS in any fucking case unless it's a sports dedicated news station/channel; but seriously, steroid abuse? Isn't that old fucking news?!
I thought it was common knowledge.

Yeah, but it was an important event to determine how sports (one of, if not the biggest, cultural aspects of American society) will deal with the problem. It was, in its own right, history. Sure, it probably won't be a main topic in history classes about the early 21st century, but it will be an important part of any course on US Social and Cultural History.
I agree that most news items nowadays are useless entertainment industry gossip, or desperate grabs for ratings, but this was really a big news event this time.

I guess I'm biased; I never was into sports.
It's just when I see breaking news, I get excited.
And yet again, like I said, steroid abuse was common knowledge, heck I learned about it in grade school. Even if they did new studies, does it really warrant "breaking news"?! Unless it was considered a conspiracy theory or some shit before this, I don't think it applies.
Unless it's a dedicated sports channel, like I said previously.

Honestly, I don't think breaking news has ever been personally relevant since the Septermber 11th attacks or the start of the invasion of Iraq.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I have yet to encounter or hear from one person who is morally outraged, or even a little bit upset about this issue.
It seems the overwhelming reactions are one of two things:
A) No surprise/figured as much
B) Who gives a shit
Personally I'm situated in both camps. The only sport I follow is MMA (mixed martial arts), and though it hasn't come under fire (much) for steroids as of yet, there's no doubt in my mind that it, along with every other major sport is just as guilty as baseball.
Anyone who is physically active into their late 20's and beyond knows that there's only so much abuse your body can take on a daily basis. I find it impossible to believe that anyone pushing themselves to the extent that pro athletes do is doing it without some kind of chemical enhancement. Unless you are a legitimate genetic freak, the recovery ability just isn't there.
