No, I'm not talking about the show or the books we all read as young adults.

What I am referring to is the fact that some quotes in movies give us goosebumps. One quote that always gives me goosebumps when I hear it is when Maximus reveals himself to Commodus in Gladiator:

Maximus wrote:
My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions, loyal servant to the true emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife. And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next.

So, I was wondering if anyone gets goosebumps or just gets excited about other quotes from other movies.
(If someone already started this thread before, I apologize as i couldnt find that thread... and thanks to whoever fixed my PoP post as I couldnt find the original PoP thread)

A scene that gives me goosebumps like everytime is the Order 66 montage in Revenge of the Sith. The combination of the tragic music playing during it and the footage of clones, without a shred of malice or regret, executing the Jedi they served under throughout the war is heavy. And Yoda feeling the Jedi dying and dropping his cane is a nice touch.

The scene from One Flew Over A Cuckoo's Nest in which Jack Nicholson's character discovers that nurse Ratched's cruelty has driven a patient to suicide, and he strangles her out of rage.

Also, when an ernaged Orson Wells reminds everyone in his booming voice that he is indeed Charles Foster Kane in the legendary Citizen Kane.

And this scene from the Charlie Chaplin movie City Lights.

Chaplin plays a tramp who helps a blind girl in her time of need. He later visits her after her sight is restored, and she recognizes him by feeling his hands and face. Her revelation results in one of the most sincere moments of pathos ever captured on celluloid.

I remember I got goosebumps the first time I saw the Spider-Man 2 trailer. That thing felt epic back in the day. It was during the song Preliator and Spidey was swinging on a street to get back on the el.

In Glory, when the 54th Massachusetts is walking to the beachhead, the previously racist asshole white regiment:

"Give 'em Hell, 54th!"

Thou, because I am wroth, be not dismayed, for I shall win the strife, whoever circle round within for the defence. This their insolence is not new, for of old they used it at a less secret gate, which still is found without a bolt. Above it thou didst see the dead inscription; and already on this side of it
descends the steep, passing without escort through the circles,
One such that by him the city shall be opened to us.

I never read nor watched goosebumps.

Anyway, I can't recall anything giving me goosebumps recently.

Yeah, sorry to disappoint, but this is definitely not about the books/show.

I agree w/the order 66 scene. It really does get me everytime. I have not seen One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest yet, but it is on my to do list.

Another moment that really gives me goosebumps (and i'll probably have to face the wrath of Black Zarak because of this) is the scene where Goku becomes Super Saiyan for the first time. Right after Krillin (Kuririn) dies at the hands of Freeza and Goku snaps. Oh man, that always gives me goosebumps. I got some right now just typing this up.

Flash Beating the snot out of Lexiac

and

Supes going unrestrained on Darkseid

The end of The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, when the baron finishes telling his long crazy story about all the stuff he did, including accidentally pissing of the Sultan and starting the war, travelling to the moon, defeating the army besieging the town, and being assassinated by town's power-mad overseer. Then he convinces the townspeople to open the gates. They have absolutely no logical reason to listen to him, but they do... and the Turkish army is gone.

Had the baron somehow actually defeated them? Or had the war ended long ago and its conclusion been kept secret by an evil regime bent on exerting absolute control over its citizens? It doesn't matter. Each interpretation is highly satisfying.

I love that movie, partly because it showed constantly on HBO at the time, and partly because I really liked seeing a guy toss three sunken ships at his foes.

I remember getting an awesome feeling the first time I saw Lord of the Rings. I was pretty young at the time so afterwards when we got home I ran around the backyard hitting trees with sticks and screaming "TO ISENGARD!!!"

Yep, I decided to change it because the Locke picture kept slowing down the site whenever I loaded a new page.

Nice. I changed mine because it was time for a change. Also, if you run your images off of Photobucket, I'd use the built-in editor to resize them for avatar use. I didn't do it for this avatar, but that's because it's low-frame and I'm a hypocrite.
